I've been pleased with the players' attitude since I arrived- Frank Lampard
The Blues legend started his first pre-season at Chelsea with a 1-1 draw.
Premier League side Chelsea FC started their pre-season with a 1-1 draw against Bohemian FC. Michy Batshuayi opened within the first eight minutes only to concede the equaliser at the 89th-minute mark. Managing the first game as Chelsea's head coach, Frank Lampard insisted that he already had the fitness issues in his mind.
Frank said, "Fitness was always going to be an issue against a team halfway through their season."
"Fitness was our issue, we've been working hard on it, even this morning," said Lampard after the game. Chelsea will open their Premier League campaign on 11th August 2019 against Manchester United and Lampard understands that there is a lot of work to be done.
"The quicker we get there the better. It's about individuals getting fit. Some of the young lads were really good."
"We want to get a level of fitness and intensity in their game," the coach said to Sky.
