Ciri revealed as main protagnist of Witcher 4 at The Game Awards 2024

Just a few weeks ago, CD Projekt announced that they had proceeded with the full development of Witcher 4. Recently, they also released a new update for Cyberpunk that has tons of content for the game.

Rumors were already there that there were going to be two holy sh** moments that fans were about to see at The Game Awards 2024 and clearly this was one of them. The first trailer for the game has been revealed with ‘Ciri’ as the main lead.

A new saga The Witcher 4

Codename Polaris, aka The Witcher 4, anticipation has been building among the fans for many years. And now, CD Projekt has finally taken the first step towards it in grand style. 

They revealed a long, 6-minute trailer at The Game Awards 2024, which really surprised the fans and gaming community. The upcoming saga’s main protagonist will be the beautiful Cintia “Ciri” of Cintra.

The trailer showcases how she has become a full-fledged Witcher. Her battle with a weird-looking monster was shown where she was using her abilities and powers. Viewers saw Ciri use new elemental attacks, indicating her character development and increased control over her magical talents.

Geralt must be proud of her and speaking about him, there was no mention or hint of him in this game. However, you don’t have to get sad, as Doug Cockle, the voice behind Geralt of Rivia, recently confirmed that Geralt will return in The Witcher 4. But he won’t be the main lead this time in the game.

As CD Projekt continues to work on what is likely to be another landmark release, fans are left to guess the story arcs, characters, and worlds they will explore. There is also the upcoming Witcher series season 3, which will be arriving on Netflix as well, starring Liam Hemsworth as your new Geralt of Rivia.

As for the release date, don’t expect this game to launch before 2027. The trailer was a really unexpected drop by CD Projekt, but fans believe that the studio will really take some time before they drop this amazing new story with Ciri.
