Spring blooms and AI gets a major overhaul
On February 28, 2025, Battlestate Games dropped the latest update and patch notes for the Escape from Tarkov. The snowy raids time is over and now its muddy and spring time.
However, the biggest change was the AI revamp, which excited the whole community. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Spring arrives in Escape from Tarkov
The winter season is now over and the spring has officially started in the game. Great bushes are back, which are excellent for the cover and more dark gear that will blend perfectly with the surroundings.
We can expect more rain in the rains and the sneaky gameplay will become more dangerous. This seasonal shift is a great addition for the latest update in the game.

AI tweaks
Escape from Tarkov AI has been a wild ride, with aimbot snipers, erratic health pools, and perplexing patrols. Patch 0.16.1.3 addresses these issues front on, with a laundry list of improvements:
- Accuracy Nerf: When hit, tagged attackers lose their accurate aim, giving you a fighting chance.
- Tactical Patience: At long range, common AI hangs back unless you shoot first, resulting in a “wait-and-see” vibe.
- Spawn and Path Fixes: No more bot hordes swarming a single player—spawn rates, placements, and paths have been smoothed out, reducing PvE pandemonium.
- Spread-Out Tactics: Bots will not clump or hog the same cover position, reducing collisions and server load.
- Enemies can now detect you based on distance, angle, weather, attitude, and mood. Prone in fog? You are a ghost. Sprinting in the open? Good luck.
- Bushes hide you from most bots, with the exception of elite opponents like Zryachiy, Birdeye, and the BTR, who can see everything.
- Limited Intel Sharing: When solitary, bots only tell friends within 50 meters about you, keeping information local until they’re grouped together.
- No more Wallbangs: Only Raiders, Rogues, and Bosses utilize suppressive fire. Regular AI will not shoot blind; say goodbye to cheap fatalities.
Bug fixes in Escape from Tarkov
- Headshot Volume: No more deafening explosions.
- Arm/Thorax Fix: What’s with that pesky damage glitch? History.
- Door Respect: Bots can no longer phase through closed doors.
- Error 228: Permanent banishment.
- PvE Purity: Transitions will not drop you into PvP lobbies.
