New collaboration and season 2 changes

One of the best collaborations is happening in TEKKEN 8 as Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is all set to join the fight universe.

This was officially announced during the recent TEKKEN TALK LIVE and will provide the new free content update for everyone. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Know more about TEKKEN 8 x Atelier Yumia collaboration

TEKKEN 8 players will receive free Atelier Yumia-themed stuff in Season 2, which begins on April 1, 2025, while Atelier Yumia fans can claim TEKKEN-inspired in-game items.

Details are still coming in, but Bandai Namco and Koei Tecmo teased the collaboration with a humorous nod: a famous TEKKEN cliff-toss scenario recreated with Atelier Yumia’s Heihachi-mustache slime.

Also, there are some free rewards that only some lucky fans can win. All you have to do is follow @KoeiTecmoUS and @TEKKEN_Project on X and repost their pinned post by March 30 for a shot at winning one of two canvas posters.

This is the artwork officially created by Atelier Yumia’s lead designer Benitama (also behind the Atelier Marie remake), featuring Yumia alongside TEKKEN 8’s Reina—a must-have for collectors!

What’s coming in TEKKEN 8 Season 2?

The season 2 is all set to drop on April 1, 2025 and here’s what you can expect:

  • Anna Williams – The fan favorite fighter returns with her signature style.
  • New Practice Stage – A large arena for practicing your combos, with stages that may be swapped out mid-session.
  • Battle Tweaks – Ki Charge now increases damage but loses counter-hit status; off-axis strikes now auto-recalibrate for smoother combos (adjustable in options); and Power Crush/Heat Engager combos are now simply Power Crush moves.

The battle tweaks have been done for many fighters in the game. According to game designer Kohei “Nakatsu” Ikeda, these modifications aim to make TEKKEN 8 “more user-friendly,” especially after whiffing issues afflicted characters like Jun and Lidia in Season 1.

Season 2 Battle Changes

  • Upgrades to Practice Mode: For more effective training, customize Punishment Settings and post-Ukemi actions (dashes, hops, and crouches).
  • Version numbers are shown above the timer (optional).
  • Fighter Adjustments: Throw escapes now deliver recoverable damage to all characters.

TEKKEN 8 fans and community are all pretty excited about the new Atelier Yumia Cross-Collaboration and the upcoming season 2. Are you hyped as well? Do share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
