Individual battles will be key in the second semi-final clash of PKL 9.

Puneri Paltan will be up against Tamil Thalaivas who has made it to the semifinals for the first time. In the previous encounter many predicted UP Yoddhas will win due to the experience, but the all-round effort from Tamil Thalaivas proved to be decisive. Tamil Thalaivas will be up against a familiar opposition, who too rely on teamwork with all the players putting in equal contributions.

Narender Kandola vs Fazel Athrachali

Narender Kandola will be up against the captain of Puneri Paltan Fazel Athrachali, who will be donning the left corner position. Kandola never ventures into the left flank for scoring points rather scores most of his points from the right flank itself.

Fazel shall be clever in handling Narender as he will be the one attacking Narender Kandola. Also, Narender is being called the Dubki “kid” by many and hunting in pairs will be the safer bet for Puneri Paltan’s defence.

Mohit Goyat vs Abhishek M

Mohit Goyat will be coming back from an injury and will look to make an immediate impact upon his arrival. He has one of the fastest legs in the league which has been the USP for the lead raider.

Abhishek M who is prone to unsuccessful tackles can fall into the trap if Mohit uses his fast fast legs. The running hand touch is another option for Mohit and Abhishek should be retracing fast in order to avoid a touch.

Akash Shinde vs Sahil Gulia

Akash Shinde will be up against the stand-in captain of Tamil Thalaivas who had a decent outing in the previous match against UP Yoddhas. Sahil Gulia should look to put in more ankle holds as Akash takes a lot of points in bonus and tackling him during that time can prove to be decisive.
