Women's Kabaddi World Cup 2025: All teams qualified for semifinals

All four semi-finalists of the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 have been confirmed on Day 6.
The second edition of the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup is currently underway in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The league stage has now concluded, and all four teams have been confirmed for the semi-finals, where they will compete for a spot in the final.
Eleven teams participated in the tournament, divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group advanced to the semi-finals.

The tournament has provided thrill and excitement throughout, as two of the four teams to play in the semis were confirmed on the very last day of the league stage. In fact, two virtual quarter-finals took place on the final day, deciding the remaining two semi-finalists.

On that note, let’s have a look at all the teams that have qualified for the semi-finals.
Group A
India

The defending champions of the inaugural World Cup, India, stepped onto the mat this time to win back-to-back titles. They have looked confident and dominant throughout the tournament, winning all their matches convincingly.
With a balanced performance in both raid and defence, they have been the most consistent team so far. They finished at the top of Group A with four wins, becoming the first team to qualify for the semi-finals. They will face Iran in the semis.

Bangladesh
This is the first time any Kabaddi World Cup has been held outside India, and it is taking place in Bangladesh. The home team is receiving immense love and support from the crowd, and it is clearly reflected in their performances.
Bangladesh finished in second position in Group B with 6 points, with their only loss coming against India. They confirmed their place in the semi-finals on the last day of the league stage after winning the virtual quarter-final against Thailand in a thrilling contest. They will face Chinese Taipei in the semi-final.
Group B
Chinese Taipei
Chinese Taipei have been the most dominant team of the tournament. The Asian Games silver medalists stepped onto the mat with a clear mindset to go one step further this time.
They won all their matches in the league stage, even defeating the strong Iranian team, who were the silver medallists of the previous World Cup. They finished at the top of the table in Group B with 10 points and 5 wins. They will face Bangladesh in the semi-final.
Iran
Iran finished in 2nd place in Group B with 8 points and 4 wins. Their only loss in the tournament came against Chinese Taipei. They confirmed their place in the semi-finals after defeating Nepal in a virtual quarter-final on the last day of the league stage.
Iran have a rich history in Kabaddi, as they are the only team apart from India to win the Asian Games gold medal, achieving this historic feat in 2018 after defeating India in the final.
They also won the silver medal in the inaugural World Cup, and this time, they would look to go one step further and clinch the title. They will face the Indian team in the semi-final.
