Is John Cena retiring from WWE?
The 16-time world champion has been the face of WWE for more than a decade
John Cena has been the face of WWE for more than a decade and now it seems like, he is soon going to retire. John Cena started as a bodybuilder then came to pro wrestling changing the sports entertainment in multiple ways. John Cena is without a doubt one of the biggest superstars to ever make it into the pro-wrestling industry. The former wrestler now actor has had his share of ups and downs in WWE but still made it to the top of the game and still is one of the highest-paid wrestlers in the world.
The 16-time world champion was last seen in WWE at WrestleMania this year. Despite the fact that Cena lost the bout, his supporters enjoyed watching him give Austin Theory an Attitude Adjustment. While promoting his new Fast and Furious film, the 46-year-old discussed his professional wrestling and acting career. However, because he had not been seen much in the wrestling ring, the Cenation's head recently issued a statement about his absence, which may hint at his plans for retirement.
During an interview on Busted Open Radio, the Fast X star expressed his ambition to be in WWE "every day" and a regular performer for the business. However, the actor said that his body will not allow it. “That’s a testament to your work, but man, I wish I was still there every day. I wish I was still there every day. My body can’t do it anymore. I don’t want to give the consumer a bad product.”
John Cena on Fast X
John Cena is going to be in Fast X which is scheduled to be released on May 19, 2023. John Cena discusses how much driving he did while filming the Fast & Furious movie. Fast X, directed by Louis Leterrier, pits Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto against a new foe in the form of Jason Momoa's Dante. Cena, who initially appeared as an enemy in F9: The Fast Saga in 2021, returns as a vital ally this time around.
In a recent interview with Extra, Cena discusses how much driving he really got to do on set ahead of the Fast X release date later this week. Despite his desire to perform a lot of his own driving, the wrestler-turned-actor claims that stunt drivers handle practically all of the action-packed parts.
“I love to drive and I’m very confident behind the wheel, and I would love to be able to get in there and do some great stuff, but that’s not fair to the production. A production that hinges a lot of money on making it out on time with everybody safe as possible.
“We did some other shots in the movie that don’t have the car you were describing that I’m driving around just like it was you on a regular day getting groceries. But with the shots that had to do with some elements that are yet to be described, that has to go to the professionals.”
