World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has been the epitome of sports entertainment, captivating millions of fans worldwide for decades. Throughout its illustrious history, WWE has made numerous groundbreaking decisions that have shaped the wrestling industry. However, not all choices made by the company have been met with praise. In this analysis, we delve into the top 6 worst decisions taken by WWE, which have garnered significant criticism and backlash from the passionate wrestling community.

So, here we bring 6 worst decisions that were taken by WWE:

6. Firing CM Punk

Firing CM Punk was a major misstep for WWE due to his immense talent, popularity, and ability to engage mainstream audiences. Punk’s departure resulted in lost revenue from merchandise and pay-per-view sales, left storylines unresolved, and strained fan loyalty. The decision disrupted locker room dynamics and severed a potentially lucrative future collaboration. Ultimately, letting go of such a charismatic and influential figure not only impacted WWE’s bottom line but also weakened its storytelling and connection with fans. Now, Punk is enjoying his time at AEW and is currently in a feud with Ricky Starks.

5. Messing with Sting’s WWE Run

WWE mishandled Sting’s return by delaying it for years after the Monday Night Wars, resulting in diminished impact. His WrestleMania debut against Triple H saw him lose, squandering the chance to establish his WWE legacy. Additionally, a career-ending injury during a feud with Seth Rollins further hindered his potential run. The lack of a proper storyline continuation left fans unsatisfied, ultimately depriving the wrestling world of a memorable and impactful return to WWE for the legendary Sting. But, now he is in AEW waiting to complete his finale.

4. Burying the Fiend

Vince consistently fails to fulfill his commitments to the competitors, despite making extravagant promises. The last time The Fiend was seen was at WrestleMania 37, in a match against Randy Orton. The Viper prevailed in this contest. Since then, Bray Wyatt has not appeared on WWE television as The Fiend.

Bray Wyatt was unique. For once, a preternatural persona stood apart from the Undertaker and was in a league of its own. The transformation of Husky Harris, a battle tank with a Ferrari engine, into a cult leader was one of the best in recent memory, and to demonstrate how immersed Wyatt was in his gimmick, he implied in a tweet that he had possessed Husky Harris when a fan inquired about his bizarre turn. Such was The Fiend, but now he just have admirers who did not enjoy losing the Fiend. In fact, nobody did.

3. Wrong creative direction with Dolph Ziggler

WWE’s decision to underutilize Dolph Ziggler is often considered one of their worst moves due to several key factors. Ziggler possessed exceptional in-ring skills, charisma, and mic abilities, making him a standout talent deserving of more significant opportunities.

Despite brief moments of success, WWE failed to capitalize on his momentum, repeatedly pushing him back down the card or placing him in stagnant storylines. This not only hindered his growth as a top-tier star but also frustrated the fans who were vocal about their support for him.

Lastly, Ziggler’s dedication to the company and his willingness to consistently deliver high-quality performances made the underutilization even more disheartening for fans. It reflected a missed opportunity to elevate a talented wrestler to main event status, potentially refreshing WWE’s main event scene and creating compelling storylines.

2. Overpushing Roman Reigns as face

WWE’s over-pushing of Roman Reigns as a face (a heroic, good-guy character) was perceived as one of the worst decisions due to multiple reasons. Firstly, the company’s insistence on presenting Reigns as the top babyface despite the fans’ overwhelming rejection led to a significant negative reaction from the audience. Fans felt that his push was forced and not organic, resulting in resentment towards him as a performer.

Secondly, Reigns’ constant triumphs at the expense of other deserving talents caused a lack of diversity in the main event scene. This led to fan fatigue and frustration with WWE’s lack of willingness to explore different storylines and characters.

1. Breaking The Undertaker’s streak

Breaking The Undertaker’s streak at WrestleMania was one of the worst decisions by WWE due to severe backlash from fans and the wrestling community. For over two decades, the streak had become a legendary and iconic aspect of WrestleMania, making The Undertaker an almost unbeatable force. When Brock Lesnar defeated him at WrestleMania XXX, it shocked and disappointed fans, feeling like an abrupt end to an era. The decision lacked a compelling reason and failed to elevate Lesnar significantly, leaving a lasting negative impact on one of WWE’s most hallowed traditions.
