Sheamus expresses desire to main event WrestleMania before WWE contract ends
Sheamus is one of the most talented professional wrestlers, who has been working WWE since 2006. He has proved his caliber throughout his run and has been highly successful in his career. He is a three-time WWE Champion, one time World Heavyweight Champion, three times United States Champion, four-time Raw Tag Team Champion and one time SmackDown Tag Team Champion.
However, Sheamus was not given much push from the company and did not have any interesting storylines. He has often publicly spoken about his frustrations with the lack of creativity. When Sheamus was worrying about the creative bookings, he delivered a great match with Edge on Edge’s 25th Anniversary.
Although he lost the match, Sheamus was appreciated for the efforts and great in-ring match. It was his final appearance on television till date, as the Celtic Warrior has not been seen since then. However, Sheamus gave an interview, where he expressed his desire to main event WrestleMania.
Sheamus on main eventing WrestleMania
Sheamus in a recent interview with Virgin Media Sports Stories spoke about his desire to main event WrestleMania, which he missed last year as he, Gunther and McIntyre were closer to main event WrestleMania 39. And they stole the show more than any other matches.
Sheamus said,
“The IC Title. That’s it. I want to main event WrestleMania too. I want to main event WrestleMania as well, that’s another one. The IC Title and main event WrestleMania [are] the two things I want to do. I should have main evented WrestleMania last year. It should have gone on last. It stole the show at WrestleMania. Nothing came close, match-wise, the match me, Gunther, and Drew had. I knew that was always going to be the case. I was so close (to capturing the title) at ‘Mania, and it just got taken away from me.”
Sheamus was advertised for SmackDown and live events months ago, but he didn’t make it through. His contract is about to expire later this year, however, there isn’t any information when he will be returning to the company.
