SmackDown's Shotzi suffers major injury during WWE NXT taping

Shotzi is one of the major stars of the SmackDown women’s roster, who has been involved in some of the major storylines and feuds. She recently made her return to NXT on the most recent episode, where she met NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyra after Tattum Paxley’s match. Which turned into a challenge, which Lyra Valkyria accepted. Lyra said that she accepted a title shot next week and she’ll speak to Ava.
She said that she already spoke to her and all that she wanted was her green light. The match was made official and it was held in the NXT second taping for next week. However, a backstage update on Shotzi has been reported, which indicates that she suffered a major injury during the taping.
Shotzi suffers Knee Injury
Corey Brennan of Fightful.com reported that Shotzi has suffered a serious knee injury during WWE NXT’s second taping for next week’s episode. Shotzi faced Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Championship, where she injured her knee and the match was stopped by the referee. She was escorted backstage and got checked out by the medical team.
Corey Brennan on Fightful.com on X wrote,
“Shotzi and Lyra Valkyria’s NXT Women’s Title match during tonight’s second #WWENXT taping was stopped due to a serious knee injury suffered by Shotzi. She was helped to the back and is being checked out now.”
It is unknown how intense the injury is and how long her injury would take her to step in for in-ting competition. Shotzi is about to face Tiffany Stratton on SmackDown this week on SmackDown in the Elimination Chamber Qualifying match. If the injury is intense, it seems like we would have a replacement star on SmackDown to face Tiffany. However there isn’t any official information about the replacement or injury report yet.
