The February 02, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is finally oever and it kicked off the road to WrestleMania 40. This is the must see episode of SmackDown as it lay out the foundation for the future of the company on the road to WrestleMania 40. This week’s WWE SmackDown is filled with number of goosebumps moments, segments and matches. WWE SmackDown Summary & Highlights
Logan Paul
Logan Paul kicked-off this week’s Friday Night SmackDown. Logan took a microphone in his hands and said that he took Owens lite, but he made damahe in him than Flyod Mayweather, however he lost. Logan says that he is stronger than anyone in the roster. He says that most blame of torn triceps, injured knee and so but he is here eventhough he is hurt.
Kevin Owens interrupted him and said that he is done hearing Logan’s crap and says that Birmingham is the place. Owens gives a shoutout to the referee and says he is brilliant. Owens says that he doesn’t need Brass Knuckles to beat him again.
Logan says that he smells horrible and Owens says that he bath in Prime. Logan Paul is done with Kevin Owens and doesn’t want to give him a rematch. Paul says that he would instead be in the commentary for his match against Austin Theory.
Kevin Owens vs Austin Theory
Kevin Owens locks Austin Theory’s head, as Theory tries to escape Owens delivered a shoulder throw. Owens looks for a standing senton, but Theory has his knees up. Theory takes control with it. Theory sends Owens face first to the turnbuckle.
Owens counters Theory’s rolling Drop Kick and delivered a senton and a cannon ball. Both went to the apron, where Owens look for a powerbomb, but Theory threw him over the head, landing back first.
During the Commercial, Owens went for a swantom bomb of the top rope, but Theory countered with the knee and took control. Owens fights back, head butt him and delivered a DDT. This time he connected the Swantom bomb perfectly.
Owens looks dor the stunner, but Theory escapes and sent Owens shoulder first to the ring post. Theory hit a blockbuster and took him to the top rope for a vertical superplex, but Owens pushed him down. Theory punched him own the face and hit a rolling slam.
Waller distracts the referee and Logan handed the brass knuckles to Theory. But Owens took it from his hand and knocks out Waller and Theory to get the pinfall. After the match, Owens chased Logan Paul out through the audience area.
Naomi and Tiffany signs SmackDown contract
Naomi came out of Nick Aldis room with the SmackDown conract on her hands, where Belair, Michin and Shotzi chanted her stating “Welcome back”. Tiffany Stratton also came with the signed SmackDown contract and asks why she didn’t got the chants. Tiffany then slapped Michin and says that they will never forget her.
Nick Aldis Office- Logan Paul & Bianca Belair
Bianca Belair and Logan Paul were on the backstage in Nick Aldis Office, where Belair talks about Women’s World Championship and Logan Paul discuss about asking for an opponent except Kevin Owens. Both Belair and Paul argue with each other and Paul walks away.
Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Qualifier Match- Pretty Deadly vs LWO vs LDF vs Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate.
Bate and Kitt Wilson start the match, where it turned out into a brawl as everyone stepped into the ring. It seems like Pretty Deadly and LDF could have a temporary alliance, but Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate and LWO took them away. Wilde jumps through from the springboard with the assist of Dunne, Bate and Toro.
After the commercial, Wilson locks Wilde’s head and Wilde tags Dunne. Dunner is fired up and he took LDF out of the ring and took LDF and LWO single handedly. Pretty Deadly looks to counter Dunne, but Bate took him to a aeroplane spin and both Dunner and Bate hit a clothesline suplex combination.
LWO looks fight LDF but Elaktra Lopez stood between them. Zelina Vega took her down and LWO delivered a suicide dive on LDF. Pretty Deadly looks to play the mind game, but Dunne pulled Prince’s finger and Bate hit his finisher for the win.
Backstage- Damage CTRL
Kabuki Warriors and IYO SKY discuss backstage about Bayley’s decision and IYO says that Bayley is done tonight and laughs, which Bayley heard behind the door.
Bayley picks her WrestleMania 40 opponent
Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce were the ring already to hear about Bayley’s decision. Bayley comes out with Damage CTRL. Bayley says that she done it almost all. Bayley says that this year is different. She says that she is backed up by Damage CTRL and they are family.
Bayley says that she wants to be best by defeating the best, that is Rhea Ripley. She says that sometimes its not about holding the title its about taking it personal. She says that the person she believed her as friends turn on her. Bayley asks IYO in Japanese of what they talk behind her back and Kabuki Warriors attacked Bayley from the back.
IYO SKY joined hands with Kabuki Warriors and attacked Bayley. However, Bayley took a steel pipe on her hand and attacked Kairi and Asuka. As Bayley tried to attack IYO SKY, she vented out. Bayley picked IYO as her opponent for WrestleMania 40 and she is going for the WWE Women’s Championship.
The Final Testament vs Bobby Lashley & Street Profits
They enter into the fight before the match began as Lashley and Profits went on to throw punches on her. Profits took AOP out of the ring, Lashley took Kross in the ring and looks for a Full Nelson Hurt Lock, but Scarlett locks his neck from the back. B Fab came out of nowehere and took Scarlett out. Lashley delivered a spear on Kross and the match is abandoned.
Nick Aldis Office- Bron Breakker, Adam Pearce & Jade Cargill
Nick Aldis looks to sign Bron Breakker to SmackDown, but Adam Pearce came and confused him. Pearce said him to wait until Monday as he will be coming with a great deal. Breakker says that he will see him on Raw and went. Jade Cargill came to meet Aldis, where Aldis asked Pearce to leave the place.
Tiffany Stratton vs Michin
Michin waste no time and punishes Tiff right away with a drop kick, and a couple of vertical suplex. Michin took Tiff out of the ring and slide kicked her. When Michin tried to kick Tiffany from the apron, Tiff pulled her legs, landing face first on the apron.
After the commercial, Stratton locked Michin’s neck on the ropes. Michin slaps Tiff and took control of the match with a code breaker. Tiff fighta back and delivered an Alabama Slam. Tiffany took Michin down and delivered the Prettiest MoonSault Ever for the win.
Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes & The Rock
Roman Reigns with Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa comes to the ring and took the mic on his hand and got acknowledged from the WWE Universe. Roman says that he looks to move forward. He mentions Seth Rollins statement on Raw and says that Seth Rollins isn’t the ‘A’ Champion. Seth claims that he is the workhorse, but broke his knee weeks after. Roman show up less, but earn more tham him. Roman says that he won’t beg like Rollins and asks who’s money Cody wants.
Cody Rhodes came to the ring and asked Roman that he wants to talk with him alone and aks Solo and Jimmy to step down the ring. Cody says that he hear from the legends and friends and says that Roman cheated him. Cody says that this was the title his father had and was pulled it from his hands soon. Cody asks what is finishing the story and explains that finishinh the story does not mean only the title, but he looks to take it all from him.
Cody says that he will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but not at WrestleMania, as he one Roman knows well wanted to be there. The Rock’s music is played and the Great One arrived to the ring. The Rock had a quick handshake and hug to Cody Rhodes and looks ROman Reigns face to face. This end’s this week’s episode of SmackDown.
