CM Punk’s appearance confirmed for 6/21 edition of WWE SmackDown

This week’s SmackDown is on CM Punk’s hometown Chicago, Illinois
CM Punk has been away from in-ring competition since Royal Rumble 2024, where he tore his tricep muscle. Although being injured Punk has developed his storyline feud with Drew McIntyre, where he ruined Drew’s World Championship opportunities.
At Clash at the Castle PLE, Punk traveled all the way to Glasgow, Scotland from Chicago, Illinois to ruin Drew’s world title match, where he showed up as the referee and hit him in the groin to make sure he lost his title match. As Punk is involved physically during the match most wonder whether he is cleared and when he will be showing up next. Now WWE has officially confirmed Punk’s WWE return, which is this week.
CM Punk’s SmackDown appearance
At Clash at the Castle 2024 PLE Post-Show Press Conference, CM Punk announced that he would skip the 6/17 episode of Raw in Texas, he revealed that he would be appearing on the 6/21 episode of SmackDown at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Chicago, Illinois. Which is the hometown of CM Punk.
The Second City Saint also said that he would skip Raw to check with the doctors if he is cleared to compete and would be coming to SmackDown with an update. WWE has now officially confirmed Punk’s arrival to the blue brand with a promotional video.
CM Punk at Clash at the Castle Post-Show Press Conference said,
“I’ve been cleared, only for referee duty. I had a little bit of a hiccup out there. We’ll go back to the lab and reassess. I can tell you that my arm feels amazing. I got permission to skip Raw in Corpus Christi to go home to Chicago to see my doctors with the idea that I’m going to be cleared.”
“I think SmackDown is in Chicago next week. I’m a Raw guy, but I’m going to skip Raw, get cleared, and show up to SmackDown and let everybody know the good news. Hopefully.”
This will be the first SmackDown Television appearance of Punk in almost six months, however appeared a number of times after the show in dark segments. Drew McIntyre announced that he is quitting WWE after being screwed by Punk in front of his hometown. With Punk appearing in his hometown, his appearance is highly anticipated among wrestling fans.
