In Photos: CM Punk shares unseen backstage pics of his return at WWE Survivor Series 2023

CM Punk made his WWE return last year at the 2023 Survivor Series PLE!

CM Punk is one of the most popular professional wrestlers around the world. He has been in the wrestling industry for over 18 years and has always turned out to be the best inside the square circle.

Punk is currently in WWE and is having an incredible second run in the company, rewriting his controversial career in the past, since Survivor Series 2023. It has been almost a year since his return, now CM Punk has recalled his return to the Stamford-based company by sharing unseen photos of his return on social media.

CM Punk shared the unseen photos of his WWE return after nine-long years at the 2023 Survivor Series PLE on his Instagram story. Punk shared a picture of him in the traffic and parking lot with the Stone Cold Steve Austin poster in the promotional truck, a picture of him entering the arena through the Elevator door, signing a contract, walking through the entrance and a picture with Triple H.

Earlier this week, Punk in an interview with No Contest Wrestling shared the details behind his WWE return, where Punk described everything that he posted on Instagram.

Punk said, “I’m parked next to the TV truck and it’s just Steve Austin’s head looking at me the whole time. So I took a picture, sent it to Steve and he hit me back with the ‘WTF kid!’”

CM Punk arriving to the backstage

CM Punk said that he got a text sending someone to receive him and take him to Triple H’s office. He said that he ran through the building and through a freight elevator with the hallway getting cleared. Punk then met Triple H and signed the contract before walking through the gorilla.

Punk recalled, “I get a text, ‘We’re going to clear the hallway and come get you and put you in Triple H’s office.’ I ran through the building, and they put me in the freight elevator. I hear them on the other side yelling, ‘clear the hallway.’ ‘Oh no. I’m not that guy now.’ They clear the hallway, the freight elevator door opens up and six steps this way is the door I’m walking into. I walk in, sit down, and I’m in there.”

“They are starting the WarGames match and I don’t have a deal yet. I’m sitting in there, the lawyers are going back and forth, hammering stuff out, and Triple H walks in and is like, ‘If this gets done, we’ll wait, and when the time is right, we’ll bring you in through Gorilla.’ Contracts get executed, and it’s time. Deep breath, open the door, walk through Gorilla. There are so many people in Gorilla.”

Punk said that he lost his composure entering into the Gorilla, as there were a number of people there. Bunk met Bayley, Triple H, William Regal, and Stephanie McMahon backstage, and when the WarGames got over, he was guided by Triple H to make the iconic return.
