The Hardy Boyz are one of the greatest tag teams in the professional wrestling industry involving real-life brothers Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy. The duo had a great legacy in the industry and are known for their extreme high-flying moves.
They are currently signed to AEW, however Matt Hardy’s appearance in attendance on WWE Raw weeks ago, kick-started the Hardys’ WWE return rumor. Since Hardys are known for the Ladder matches, and the WrestleMania 40 feature a Tag Team Ladder match, the rumors are circulating throughout the internet. At this stage Matt Hardy addressed the rumor in a recent interview.
The Hardy Boyz WrestleMania return?
Matt Hardy recently appeared for an interview with Chris Van Vliet, where Matt Hardy was asked about whether The Hardy Boyz will be making their WWE return at WrestleMania 40 to take part in the Six-Pack Undisputed Tag Team Championship Ladder Match.
Matt Hardy replied that the expectations from the people make him excited when they think about Hardy Boyz during a ladder match and hints by saying ‘never say never’.
Matt said,
“It’s great that people think that (Jeff & I could make another surprise appearance at WrestleMania). That makes me happy and it makes people excited. If you hear someone talk about a Ladder match, ‘Are they gonna show up?’ And that’s great. So, I don’t know. It’s pro wrestling and in pro wrestling, never say never.”
Matt Hardy on The Hardys’ Future
Matt Hardy continued saying that the one thing that matters for them is the legacy of The Hardys’. He says that they need to be relevant and not to get beat down every single week without a reason.
“What’s important to me, I think more than anything else right now, it’s just like the legacy of Jeff (Hardy) and I, because we do get mentioned in the conversation of the greatest tag team ever and we want to help younger teams, we want to build teams.”
“But also, you have to be put into a position to succeed where you do seem relevant, where you do seem like you’re at the top of your game. You can’t just go out there and get beat every single week.”
“So it’s very important to me that we’re utilized in the right way, so that when we do have a program with someone and we build to a big match and when they beat us, then it means something. Because if you just get beat without reason, it doesn’t really mean anything.”
