Top five ways WWE can end Cody Rhodes’ involvement with The Bloodline

Cody Rhodes’s involvement with The Bloodline has been too much now
Cody Rhodes has been on and off involved in the story of The Bloodline for the better part of two years now. He will be adding another chapter to what seems like a never-ending saga between him and The Bloodline at Bad Blood, where he will be teaming up with Roman Reigns to take on the enforcer of the rogue Bloodline, Jacob Fatu, and his Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa.
Fans all over the internet are criticizing Cody Rhodes’ involvement in a family affair that doesn’t necessarily need him. Some are saying the reason he hasn’t had one decent rivalry in his title reign is his over-involvement in the affairs of The Bloodline, while others are just finding the same Bloodline vs Cody Rhodes story boring and repetitive, especially since Roman Reigns and The Usos have been downgraded to Solo Sikoa and the Tonga Brothers. It just doesn’t hit the same.
At the same time, there’s nothing much WWE can do about it, as Cody needs to stay involved in The Bloodline business one way or another to build up the main event of WrestleMania next year, against a returning Dwayne Johnson.
But today, we will suggest five alternatives that can end his involvement with The Bloodline as of now.
Kevin Owens needs to turn on Cody Rhodes
Kevin Owens has been fighting off The Bloodline for the better part of four years. He was one of the pivotal players in the main event of WrestleMania 39, where Cody Rhodes almost got the job done. Ever since then, he has supported Cody in all his battles against the likes of The Judgment Day in Raw and the new version of Bloodline in SmackDown.
What Owens got in return is Cody Rhodes teaming up with Roman Reigns to take on Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa. To Cody, it might be “the enemy of my enemy is my friend,” but to Kevin Owens, it is more like “the friend of my enemy is my enemy.” This makes Cody Rhodes his enemy.
WWE needs to capitalize on this while it is still hot and execute Owens’ heel turn on Cody Rhodes as soon as possible to kickstart a new rivalry that will have a strong storyline for the first time in Cody’s reign.
Randy Orton should be the one that turns on Cody next
While we are all enjoying this babyface run of Randy Orton, he isn’t winning a lot of matches. More importantly, no matter what he says, he is getting old, and he needs to be involved more in the main event scene, especially in the championship picture, because he might not have many world championship runs left in him.
Also, I think we can all agree that a heel Randy is the best version of Randy. To make it even better, he will also have a good reason to turn on Cody, which is quite similar to Kevin Owens’ reason. Roman Reigns and his Bloodline were the ones that originally took Randy Orton out in kayfabe, costing him almost two years of his career.
Ever since he came back, he has been battling this new version of Bloodline, only to see Cody Rhodes teaming up with Roman Reigns to take them down instead of Randy Orton, who is practically responsible for Cody Rhodes having a career in the WWE in the first place. This is supposed to feel like betrayal. WWE can start this rivalry right after ending Cody’s rivalry with Kevin Owens.
Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns Part III at Crown Jewel
Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns for the third time can be a great way to end his involvement with The Bloodline.
If Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes manage to win their tag team match at Bad Blood, defeating Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, then that would mean Roman Reigns would be coming for the WWE Undisputed Championship next.
Chances are they will extend the Original Bloodline vs Rogue Bloodline storyline till the Survivor Series so that we can finally get the much anticipated Bloodline Civil War Wargames Match.
It also seems Cody Rhodes will once again be involved in that match, no matter how much we don’t want it. And it seems that it will be the night when Roman Reigns and the original Bloodline defeat the New Bloodline.
Once done with family affairs, Roman Reigns will challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Championship, according to rumors, at Crown Jewel.
That might be a good way to finally end his involvement with The Bloodline. Cody Rhodes might win the match either clean or by shenanigans caused by Solo Sikoa and his faction, but once he defeats Roman Reigns, he should be done with The Bloodline once and for all.
The Bloodline can be drafted to Raw
Cody Rhodes has already beaten Solo Sikoa for the WWE Undisputed Championship twice. But Solo Sikoa might ask for another title shot from Cody Rhodes if he and Jacob Fatu manage to win at Bad Blood over Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
But since Cody has already 2-upped him, Cody can agree to the championship match but insert one clause, which is if Solo Sikoa wins, The Bloodline leaves SmackDown.
With Raw coming to Netflix anyway, this will be a great way to draft The Bloodline, along with Roman Reigns (technically he is part of The Bloodline too), to Raw while Cody Rhodes takes on new challengers in SmackDown up until… well, you know what I am cooking with this, don’t you?
Cody Rhodes vs The Rock At WrestleMania 41
Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock can be the ultimate way to end his involvement with The Bloodline. As an extension of the previous reason, we all know that WWE is planning to do Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock at this year’s WrestleMania. So, technically, Cody Rhodes won’t be done with The Bloodline until he is done with The Rock.
All of the previous ways suggested can give him a break from The Bloodline stuff, but the endgame is Cody Rhodes vs The Rock. The Rock has already made it abundantly clear that whenever he is coming back, he is coming back for Cody Rhodes.
So, he needs to face off against The Rock and beat him to finally end all sorts of involvement with The Bloodline and move on to storylines where he will actually be the main character and not the sidekick.
