Recent reports suggest Odyssey Jones was ‘fired’
Odyssey Jones was ‘AWOL’ from the recent edition of WWE Raw. Just hours before the show, some fans noticed that the 30-year-old star’s profile page had been removed from the company’s roster page on their official website.
There was speculation as to why he was absent. Jones was pulled off WWE television because of domestic abuse claims, as reported by Fightful. The article stated that no arrests or charges have been filed as of yet.
During a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live podcast, Bryan Alvarez appeared to corroborate the rumors flying online regarding the situation, indicating that Odyssey Jones had actually been ‘fired’ by the Stamford-based company, even though no formal press statement had been published as of writing.
Odyssey Jones was promoted up to the main roster in 2023 after being selected to Monday Night RAW. However, he hadn’t been booked on the red brand in almost a year until making his RAW debut on August 5.
Jones appeared in a storyline alongside New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, supporting them in their struggles against The Final Testament.
At the same time, there were rumors that Woods would be quitting the team. However, since the domestic abuse allegations against Jones surfaced, it appears that WWE has given up any creative plans for him.
Meanwhile, Karrion Kross from The Final Testament was included in a different storyline. He interrupted The Miz’s interview during a RAW exclusive segment, implying a potential fresh collaboration in the future.
Given the severity of Big E’s injuries, his comeback is now extremely tough. Odyssey may have been an ideal option. However, this may not be the case anymore. If the charges are proven accurate, the 30-year-old superstar will be unable to compete in a WWE ring.
Jones joined WWE in 2019, beginning with the NXT. In the 2023 WWE Draft, he was selected for the RAW brand. Then, in September 2023, Jones competed in the Superstar Spectacle in Hyderabad, losing to Bron Breakker. In the 2024 WWE draft, he was again selected for the RAW brand.
