The inaugural PLE in the ESPN era is set for this Saturday!

WWE is gearing up to revive the Wrestlepalooza Premium Live Event this month. The event is set for Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, and will usher in the new era of WWE PLEs on ESPN.

The name Wrestlepalooza was originally used for an ECW event series that ran from 1995 to 2000. Its most prominent edition was the 1998 pay-per-view, headlined by Shane Douglas defending the ECW World Heavyweight Championship against Al Snow.

The promotion is going all in for the inaugural PLE, which will feature multiple big names, including John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Cody Rhodes, The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso), CM Punk, AJ Lee, Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch.

WWE will likely continue the heavy branding in the future years

The Wrestlepalooza PLE will go head-to-head with AEW All Out, and WWE has pulled out all the stops for the event. However, according to a new report, this may not be a one-time thing; WWE is likely to continue its heavy branding for future shows.

According to a recent report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the Stamford-based promotion is focused on making Wrestlepalooza a cornerstone event moving forward, especially after the recent announcement that WrestleMania 43 will take place in Saudi Arabia in 2027.

“Fightful Select was told that was a big reason why WWE has went heavy into WrestlePalooza, the branding, and will likely continue that in future years, Sources in WWE tell Fightful Select that it is being looked at as something that can also help fill the gaps in future years if WrestleMania takes place outside of North America.”

Furthermore, Iyo Sky and Stephanie Vaquer will battle for the vacant Women’s World title, while Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed title against Drew McIntyre.

A mixed-tag team match where two real-life couples, CM Punk and AJ Lee, are set to settle the score against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins is also set for the upcoming show.
