The September 27, 2024 episode of WWE SmackDown is officially over and it is one of the must watch shows in recent times. WWE has showcased some of the interesting matches and segments on the show, setting the stage for future events and the upcoming Bad Blood PLE. Get to know what happened on this week’s episode of SmackDown, as we came out with the complete summary, highlights, results and winner’s list for this week’s show.

WWE SmackDown Summary & Highlights

Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens & Bloodline

Randy Orton kicks-off Friday Night SmackDown! Randy missed being on SmackDown, while handling business on Raw. He says that he is in the business for a long time and can count the people he trust and he trusts Cody Rhodes. He addresses Cody agreed to team up with Roman Reigns. He doesn’t understand why he did that and calls Cody Rhodes out for an explanation.

Cody Rhodes says that Randy deserves an explanation. He feels like teaming with Roman is a fool, but he chose to be fool than being a coward. He says that Roman Reigns gave him a word and he believes his word. He asks Randy if he has any problem with it and offers a hand shake. Orton shook hands with Cody and said that there is no problem, but unless Cody makes it a problem.

Kevin Owens joins Cody and Randy, but Solo Sikoa with the Bloodline confronts them. Solo asks for an acknowledgement. Solo says that Roman gave his word and asked him to trust Roman and asked him not to trust Randy and Kevin, as they not gonna help him, as they let them down in the past. Kevin Owens shuts Solo off and challenges them for a tag team match. Cody tries to talk, but Kevin stops him asking Cody to focus on his match and his tag team partner at Bad Blood, as he challenges Solo and Jacob for a tag team match against him and Randy.

Backstage- Nia Jax & Tiffany Stratton

Nia Jax was mad that Bayley and Naomi are still here battling to become the next #1 contenders for the WWE Women’s title. Jax asks why they are here. She chokes Tiffany Stratton and asks why. Stratton says that she is hurt. Jax said that if it ends worse, it will end worse for Stratton. It seems like tensions started building between Jax and Stratton.

Naomi tries to roll down Bayley again and again and made it clear thst she came to win. Bayley tried to punch Naomi on the face, but hesitates. Both pull each other and theh counter each other. Bayley delivers a clothesline and arm drag, but Naomi counters with a bulldog and superkick. Bayley is sent out and Naomi delivers a springboard rolling plancha on Bayley.

Bayley delivered a springboard leg drop and Naomi fights back with a Rear view. Both exchange hands and Naomi strikes with a overhead kicks and dumps her head to the mat. Naomi delivers a blockbuster and Bayley sends Naomi face first.

Bayley flipped her to powerbomb Naomi to the turnbuckle only for a near fall. Bayley looks for a Bayley-to-Belly, but Naomi counters to drive her face first to the turnbuckle. Bayley performs Bayley-to-Belly and the flying elbow drop to pin Naomi and win the match. With this, Bayley will face Nia Jax at Bad Blood for the WWE Women’s Championship.

Backstage- Andrade met LA Knight- Carmelo Hayes blinds

Andrade met LA Knight and said that he defeated him and he respects it, but he don’t have respect for what he did. Carmelo Hayes blin attacked Knight and called Andrade to the ring for their match.

Andrade starts with a drop kick and stomps Carmelo Hayes in the corner, he measures for the double knees, but Hayes moves and punch him on the face. Andrade slammed Hayes on the apron and both men are down. Back in the ring after commercial, Melo locks Andrade’s head. The Mexican escapes and chops him. Both collided in the middle of the ring exchanging clotheslines. 

Both exchange strikes and Andrade delivers a Dragon Screw. Hayes performs first 48 on running Andrade. Melo misses a double knees and Andrade fires up with a runnung elbow and double knees. Melo escapes the message and performs a Springboard DDT for a nearfall.

Hayes stops Andrade on the top rope and joins him. Andrade headbutts Melo down and delivered a rolling Moonsault. Hayes delivers facebuster and performs a cutter, but Andrade kicks out. Melo climbs the top rope, Andrade joins him. Melo performs a super-cutter on Andrade from the top rope, only for a nearfall. Andrade escapes Nothing but Net and performs back elbow strike to send Melo out.

LA Knight pops out and runs to attack Hayes. Andrade got distracted and Melo pins Andrade using the distraction to win the match. Andrade got mad at Knight and asks why he did this to him. Knight tries to explain and offer his hands, but Andrade refused and walked backstage.

Backstage

Cody Rhodes met Kevin Owens and Randy Orton and tries to fix things. Owens says that they needs to talk, but not now, as they have match to focus on. Owens is losing his mind and Orton stops him. Owens asked Cody to focus on his match at Bad Blood and not to interfere on their match. Randy asks Cody to come out, if they are out numbered.

Michin vs Piper Niven

Michin takes her strike on Niven and Niven pushes her down. Michin takes Niven down with a hurricanrana and Niven slams her. Michin escapes her splash and got distracted by Chelsea. While Green makes the distraction, Niven performs a crossbody from the apron to take Micchin down.

Back after commercial, pushed Michin and performed a cannon ball. Michin escapes a crossbody and delivers chops and series of strikes. Michin performs Crusifix driver for two count. Niven fights bacm with a swinging sideslam.

Niven misses the splash, but delivers Michinoku driver for a near fall. Michin fights back to climb the top rope, but Niven sends her out. Niven tries to deliver a cannon ball on the trash can, but Michin escapes. While Niven tries to enter the ring, Michin delivers Feet Defeat to win the match.

Randy Orton & Kevin Owens vs Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu

Kevin Owens and Jacob Fatu start the match. Owens fires up and Jacob takes him down. Owens fights back to take Fatu down and performed a senton. Solo tags in and puts Owens down. Orton and Fatu tags in and Orton punches Fatu in the corner and Fatu strikes back to send Orton out. Fatu chases Orton, but Orton delivered four back to back back drop on the announcement table to Fatu and one to Solo.

The Bloodline takes control of the match during the commercial with Jacob Fstu delivering a Samoan Drop on Owens over the announcement table. Solo takes Owens to the top rope. Owens pushes him down to deliver a swanton bomb, but Solo has his knees up.

Solo and Jacob with a double team delivered a couple of Samoan corner hip splash. Fatu headbutts Owens and Owens tries to fight back, bu Fatu took him to their corner to tah Solo. Solo punishes Owens and Fatu hits a cheap shot. Owens fights back and tries to tag Orton, and tags after a thug of war with Solo. Randh is fired up and delivered a couple of powerslam on Solo and Jacob.

Orton delivered a floating DDT on Solo and measures for RKO, but Fatu distracts to help Solo perform the Samoan drop. Randy sends Solo out and tags Owens. The Prizefights took Solo and Jaxob with a clothesline, followed by a couple of senton and frog splash on Fatu. While Owens dominates, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa popped out to attack Owens, however Cody came for the save taking the Tongans. He tossed Tama to the ring and Randy delivers a RKO.

Owens performs a stunner on Solo, but Fatu took him down with the suicide dive and sends Cody to the ring, who accidentally hit referee’s leg. The distraction made Fatu deliver a couple of super kick on Owens and Solo pinned him for the win. After the match, Kevin Owens pushed Cody and teased of turning on him in anger, but Randy Orton stopped them. Owens and Rhodes finally hugs each other and SmackDown comes to an end.

SmackDown Results

  • Bayley defeated Naomi to become the #1 Contender for the WWE Women’s Championship.
  • Carmelo Hayes defeated Andrade by pinfall using LA Knight’s interruption as an advantage.
  • Michin defeated Piper Niven by pinfall.
  • Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu defeated Randy Orton & Kevin Owens. After the match, tensions started raising between Kevin Owens & Cody Rhodes.
