WWE stars are no longer getting the benefit of complimentary tickets
Recent reports indicate backstage unrest in WWE as stars are frustrated with the unavailability of complimentary tickets for their friends and family.
In recent times, the popularity of the Stamford-based promotion has reached new heights as the promotion continues to sell out shows and events in record time.
The promotion is continuously breaking their previous records in ticket sales and live gate. However, the significant amount of success has its downsides too.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, the Stamford-based promotion has a new policy restricting complimentary tickets for members of their talent roster.
WWE has used fewer seat fillers due to their immense success
As per the report, the ticket prices have skyrocketed due to demand but the internal comp tickets have been increasingly limited. The limited availability hit a new high in recent weeks as per sources.
The report further states that many WWE talents have voiced their frustration over the unavailability of complimentary tickets.
Instead of providing free tickets, the promotion now offers a pre-sale link that their friends and family can use to purchase tickets. It remains unclear if this policy applies universally, but several talents have reported being impacted.
The report includes comments from a WWE official who attributed the change to the company’s recent success, noting a decreased reliance on ‘seat fillers.’
Additionally, one talent expressed frustration with the new policy, pointing out that no official documentation or updates regarding the change had been provided. Another talent mentioned that comp tickets approved months in advance were later revoked, and they were asked to pay for the tickets just days before the event.
Fightful Select adds that talents must now submit a request for complimentary tickets, which, if approved, an email notification will be sent to the intended recipient.
Despite this process, many talents have expressed dissatisfaction, as free tickets seem to have largely been phased out. However, it remains unconfirmed if this new policy affects everyone across the roster.
The report concludes with one talent stating they were informed of these changes verbally through talent relations without any written communication or official updates.
Do you think WWE’s new policy on comp tickets is fair to its talents, considering their hard work and dedication to the company? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
