Moné got the better of DMD
The AEW All In 2024 match between Britt Baker and Mercedes Mone for the AEW TBS Championship was a fierce battle from start to finish.
The bout began with Baker taking early control, delivering a dropkick that sent Mone spiralling into the corner.
The champion attempted to lock in her signature move, Lockjaw, but Mone wisely grabbed the ropes and bailed to Kamille’s shoulders on the floor, calling for a timeout and taunting Baker with the title from the apron.
Back in the ring, Britt tried to capitalize with a series of punches in the corner, but Mone countered her springboard arm drag attempt and again avoided the Lockjaw.
Mercedes then took control, sending Baker to the floor where Kamille got in a cheap shot. Back inside the ring, Mone delivered knees to Baker’s spine, followed by a side slam that earned her a two-count.
She continued to target the back with a backbreaker into a submission hold, but Britt fought out with a series of knees.
Mercedes executed the Three Amigos suplexes for another near fall and followed with slingshot knees to the spine.
Baker fought back with a rolling elbow, a neckbreaker, and a Sling Blade. She attempted the Angel’s Wings, but Mone kicked out at two.
Frustrated, Mercedes took Britt’s glove and taunted her, miming putting out a cigarette on Baker’s back. Baker countered with an Air Raid Crash and reclaimed her glove, looking for another opportunity to apply the Lockjaw.
Mone slipped out of a follow-up and tried for the Mone Maker, but Baker blocked it, and the two exchanged quick pin attempts.
Mone managed to hit a lungblower and went for the pin, but Kamille saved her by putting her foot under the ropes.
Mercedes then tried to use the championship belt as a weapon, nearly hitting referee Paul Turner in the process.
Kamille attempted to intervene with another belt, but Baker seized it, executing a clever Eddy Guerrero trick by tossing the belt to Mone and pretending to be hit. Turner fell for it and ejected Kamille from ringside.
With Kamille gone, Baker took control, smashing Mercedes’ face into the turnbuckles and hitting a Panama Sunrise.
She followed up with a stomp and covered, but it wasn’t enough to keep Mone down. Britt then set up for Lockjaw, but Mercedes fought desperately, biting Baker’s fingers to counter the move. Rolling through, Mone slipped out, got Baker in a backslide attempt, and then pulled her into the ropes.
Mercedes Mone then delivered a short backbreaker, transitioning into the Gory Special position and hitting the Mone Maker. She covered Baker for the three-count, securing the victory.
