Jeff Jarrett vows to win the 2024 Owen Hart Cup at AEW Collision
Jeff Jarrett is one of the veteran professional wrestlers who is currently wrestling for AEW. The 56-year-old achieved almost everything in the pro-wrestling industry. He is a multi-time world champion across some of the major promotions and is a two-time Hall of Famer in WWE & TNA.
Jarrett recently announced his entry to the Owen Hart Foundation tournament and in the recent video tapings revealed, why he entered the tournament and why he needs to win the Owen Hart Cup.
Jeff Jarrett on how important is the Owen Hart Tournament
On the latest AEW Collision tapings, a video package was played where Jeff Jarrett spoke about why he is entering the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. In the tapings, Jarrett emotionally revealed how important the tournament is for him. Jarrett shared his bond with Owen Hart and promised that he would win the tournament and stand in the middle of the ring in Owen Hart’s hometown, Calgary.
Jeff Jarrett on the video tapings said, “When I was asked initially about being in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament, all the emotion came back. It’s hard for me to imagine, it’s been 25 years, but there’s so many things about Owen that I remember like it was yesterday. In the late 90s we would become tag team champions and I look back on those days as the favorite days of my career.”
Jarrett continued saying, “I’m a 12-time former World Heavyweight Champion. I’m a two-time Hall of Famer. Owen means more to me than anything I’ve ever done. Earlier this year, Toby Keith passed away, another good buddy of mine. And he had that song ‘Ain’t as good as I once was but I’m good once as I ever was.’ To get the opportunity to win three matches and stand in the middle ring in Owen’s hometown of Calgary, I’m absolutely going to do it.”
Jeff Jarrett is the oldest wrestler to enter the Owen Hart tournament. Jarrett will face the Joker entrant in the tournament, which will be revealed only before their match. Could the veteran win the tournament to pay tribute to his friend, Owen Hart? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
