Satwik-Chirag and Tressa-Gayatri have withdrawn from the tournament.

The Badminton Asia Championships 2025 mark the 42nd edition of the event. The tournament started in 1962 and has been held every year since 1991. Originally, it alternated between team and individual events, but the team competition was discontinued in 1994.

In last year’s BAC, host nation China dominated the competition, securing victories in three out of five events. This year, they enter the tournament with top-seeded players in four categories. However, challengers from Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and India are poised to disrupt their stronghold, making this edition of the Badminton Asia Championships an exciting battle for supremacy.

Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia, Korea’s An Se-young, and India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are among the top players who have withdrawn from the tournament, creating an open field and increasing the chances for new contenders to make a mark.
