Abhishek Porel scored 18 runs before getting bowled by KKR’s Harshit Rana.
In the 47th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Harshit Rana shattered Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Abhishek Porel stumps at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 29.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Delhi had a poor start as they lost Prithvi Shaw (13), Jake Fraser-McGurk (12), and Shai Hope (6) inside first six overs. However, from the other end, Abhishek Porel looked to play counter-attacking cricket from one end despite falling wickets at the regular interval, as the visitors reached 67/3 after the end of the powerplay.
With Kolkata needed to take Porel’s wicket, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer brought Harshit Rana into the attack to bowl the seventh over of the match. In the fourth ball of that over, Rana bowled a length ball that angled in towards Porel from around the wicket.
However, the DC left-handed batter Porel walked across to his stumps to play a ramp shot over fine leg. But he ended up missing completely, as the ball shattered his stumps onto the ground. During his stay at the crease, Porel scored 18 runs with the help of two boundaries and one maximum to his name.
