MS Dhoni will lead Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2024.

Suresh Raina, also known as Mr. IPL, gave his thoughts on upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) being MS Dhoni’s potentially last outing in the tournament. Dhoni will be captaining Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2024 as he defends the title CSK won in IPL 2023.

As everyone expected the 2023 season to be MS Dhoni’s final season, he stunned his supporters by stating that he cannot just declare his retirement yet after receiving so much love from them. Last year, when the confetti flew around the ecstatic CSK players, Dhoni stood amidst the celebrations, a contented look on his face.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan expressed confidence that skipper MS Dhoni will be fit to play in the IPL 2024, stating that the legendary wicket-keeper batsman and captain has recovered well from his knee issues and is currently undergoing rehab and training sessions.

I have no idea about this: Suresh Raina on MS Dhoni retiring after IPL 2024

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina in an interview with Times of India, spoke on the issue of IPL 2024 being MS Dhoni’s last. Dhoni will be 42 years old when the IPL 2024 begins on March 22 and CSK will face off against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the tournament opener in Chennai.

Dhoni had to undergo knee surgery and he rehabbed hard after recovering from surgery. Several videos have surfaced on social media showing Dhoni doing batting and keeping practice ahead of the IPL 2024 tournament.

When asked by TOI about MS Dhoni retiring after IPL 2024, Raina said that he had no idea about the CSK captain’s plans.

“I have no idea about this. But he is working really hard. He is looking really fit. This is up to him. He will be in a yellow jersey and entertain the fans. Fans just love him. He will do really well I am sure. He has given a lot to cricket,” Raina said.

The IPL 2024 will begin on March 22 and the IPL GC has shared the schedule of only first 15 days of the tournament. As the tourney is clashing with the general elections in India in April and May, the remainder of the schedule will be released in phases by the IPL as and when the dates of elections are revealed.
