New Zealand will face India in the first semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

New Zealand became the fourth team to qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. They won five matches during the group stage and lost four matches. Their first defeat of the tournament came against India in Dharamsala, and New Zealand will be facing the same opposition in the first semi-finals.

New Zealand will lock horns with India on Wednesday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, which will be a big clash. New Zealand have played in the finals of the last two editions in 2015 and 2019, so can they make it third in a row? But it will be difficult with the in-form Indian team. Here we will check the predicted playing XI for New Zealand against India.

Rachin Ravindra will be the man to watch out for. The 23-years-old has been the find of the tournament and is the third-highest scorer as well. He has scored 565 runs with three hundreds and two half-centuries, which is one of the main reasons that New Zealand’s have won their matches. Kane Williamson has been superb in the limited games he has played and will be the big wicket for India. He is a synonym for Virat Kohli and can be the difference-maker in the game. Williamson has scored 187 runs at an average of 93.50 and will look to deliver a captain’s performance.

4. Daryl Mitchell :

Daryl Mitchell slammed a brilliant hundred in Dharamsala when these two teams played the group match. He has been in good touch and has scored runs in important games for the team. Mitchell is an aggressive batter and can play the spinners well, as he showed in the previous meeting. He has scored 418 runs at a strike rate of 110.58 and will be a big player.

Tom Latham has recorded some low scores in the last few matches, but he has always done well against India in big events. The left-hander is a pretty elegant batter who plays technical shots but can switch gears when required. Latham has already scored two half-centuries, and he will be hoping to get his third big score against India.

6. Glenn Phillips :

Mark Chapman hasn’t gotten many chances to get set and play a long innings. He has always come to bat in the final overs in this tournament, which is why he is on the team. His quick cameos can make a difference between an average and a challenging total. The left-hander can smash any bowling attack on his day, and New Zealand will hope he can come good against India.

8. Mitchell Santner :

Mitchell Santner will be the key player because he will be attacking Indian batters to take wickets in the middle. Santner has taken 16 wickets at an economy rate of 4.81 so far and bowled pretty well in the last game against India.

Tim Southee is New Zealand’s highest wicket-taker in international cricket, and it could be his last ODI World Cup. Hence, he will look to make an impact in the game, and he can be lethal with the ball swings and seams. Especially under the light, he can pick up some quick wickets. That’s what India should avoid if they want to win.

10. Lockie Ferguson :

Lockie Ferguson will be the fastest bowler on either side. He will also get some assistance at the Wankhede, which offers some bounce. Ferguson has taken 10 wickets so far at an economy rate of 5.13 and played the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup that India lost. His pace and swing can create pressure on Indians if he can bowl in tight lenghts.

11. Trent Boult :

Trent Boult can be the nightmare for Indian top-order once again. He can single-handedly demolish and change the complex of the game in the first powerplay. India must make some plans to tackle him because Boult can be lethal at any stage of the game. He has taken 13 wickets and can be a bowler to watch out for.
