Sri Lankan net bowlers gift Virat Kohli a miniature bat ahead of SL vs IND ODI series

Virat Kohli will return to the field after a break of a month.

Ahead of the start of the SL vs IND ODI series, Indian batting legend Virat Kohli was gifted a special miniature bat by the net bowlers at the R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

Kohli is set to make his return to the cricket field after a break of more than a month following India’s ICC T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, where he was the Player of the Match in the final. Kohli retired from T20Is after helping India lift the trophy.

Along with Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja also retired from T20Is. Rohit will also return to action with this ODI series, while Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya have been rested.

Virat Kohli receives a special memento from net bowlers in Colombo

Kohli and the Indian players have been practising and training at the R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. The 35-year-old former Indian skipper received a mini bat as a special memento from the net bowlers who were assisting the Indians in their practice. Kohli posed for pictures with the memento presented to him.

The first ODI of the series will be played on August 2, the second on August 4 and the third on August 7. This series is crucial for the Men In Blue as they begin their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is scheduled for February-March.
