Mohun Bagan Super Giant unveil new jersey

The new Mohun Bagan jersey has a completely different look from those in recent times.

The 2023-24 season is almost upon us and the defending Indian Super League (ISL) champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant have just launched their brand new jersey ahead of the new season.

The Mariners’ jersey was unveiled at their base in the City of Joy by their owner Sanjiv Goenka and latest recruits Anirudh Thapa and Jason Cummings on Tuesday. This new jersey stands out in its historical "Shobuj Maroon", and evokes a sense of nostalgia and pride in all the Mohun Bagan players and fans forging a stronger bond.

About the Jersey

The 2023-24 ISL season will see Mohun Bagan don the iconic “Shobuj Maroon“ (Green and Maroon) jersey. The jersey is an ode to rich history, deep rooted tradition and unwavering passion that defines the club and its most loyal fanbase.

This colour combination holds a profound significance that resonates with the essence of the club and encapsulates its unique identity. The jersey serves as a visual testament to the club's enduring values and its pledge to the city it calls home. 

The jersey displays a white outline on the front sides, which symbolises a flow that resonates with the club's logo. A very subtle upward arrow talks about the club's glorious journey for more than a century and the fact that it continues to move ahead transcending all barriers.

Regardless of background or belief, supporters come together under the umbrella of these colours, forging a deep sense of camaraderie and shared identity.

Sanjiv Goenka’s thoughts

After the launch, Sanjiv Goenka, the founder of the RPSG Group expressed his thoughts. He said that the jersey serves as a unifying symbol and a strong bond between the players and the passionate supporters.
