Ukraine, Spain, Portugal and Morocco's set to submit joint bid to host 2030 World Cup
Ukraine will be hoping to play in 2030 World Cup through hosting rights
In their campaign for the hosting of the 2030 World Cup, Spain and Portugal could see Ukraine join them in a bid to organise the World Cup according to L'Equipe.
A joint candidature from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Greece is also possible, and a four-nation South American effort is anticipated. Ukraine will officially join Spain and Portugal's combined quest for the venue of the 2030 World Cup.
At a FIFA Session in 2024, when the 211 member nations will cast ballots on which team is best, it will be determined who will be hosting the event in eight years.
By 2030, there will be 48 teams competing in the World Cup, an increase of 16 teams over the present format.
Following the World Cup that took place this winter in Qatar, the United States, Canada, and Mexico will collaborate to host the 2026 version of the competition. Additionally, it will be the first World Cup with 48 teams.
The 2028 tournament hosts have not yet been selected, although the 2024 European Championships are expected to be hosted in Germany.
The four-country proposal by Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay that would bring the World Cup once again to South America was revealed in August of this year.
All of the nations, with the exception of Paraguay, have previously hosted the World Cup, though not since the 1970s. The 2014 World Cup in Brazil was the most recent World Cup to be hosted in the continent.
Morocco will submit a proposal for the 2030 World Cup, including a potential joint candidature with neighbouring African countries Tunisia and Algeria.
This was revealed in 2018. In 1994, 1998, 2006, and 2010, Morocco's bids to host the World Cup were unsuccessful.
With Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates as potential partners, Israel is planning another inter-confederation campaign. Over the course of the last 60 years, the Asia Cup has been held in Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
