ISL 2023-24: Gameweek 11 Team of the Week

Individual brilliance played a key role in deciding the outcome of several matches in this ISL gameweek.

The ongoing 2023-24 season of the Indian Super League is proving to be extremely exciting. In the recent round of matches, fans witnessed plenty of decent individual and collective performances by their favourite players and clubs. From Jamshedpur FC and FC Goa winning their respective games dominantly, to Punjab FC securing their first win of the term, the previous round of matches had several memorable moments.

Plenty of players also turned up and played key roles for their respective clubs. Thanks to their excellent performance, the following players found a place in Khel Now’s ISL Team of the Week for Round 11 of the 2023-24 season.

Here is a look at the Team of the Week for gameweek 11:

GK – Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (Bengaluru FC)

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu was the reason Bengaluru FC stayed in the game against NorthEast United and had the opportunity to secure a point with a late equaliser. The custodian made four saves including two from inside the box. 

RB – Pritam Kotal (Kerala Blasters FC)

Kerala Blasters FC performed excellently in defence against Mumbai City FC to secure a 2-0 win over them. Players like Pritam Kotal were superb in performing their defensive duties well. The defender made three interceptions and won several duels to keep the Islanders’ attackers at bay.

CB – Suresh Meitei (Punjab FC)

Punjab FC kept Chennaiyin FC silent in the process of recording their first win of the ISL 2023-24 season. Suresh Meitei was one of their star performers as the Shers secured a 1-0 win over the Marina Machans.

CB – Lalchungnunga (East Bengal FC)

East Bengal FC kept a clean-sheet against high-flying Odisha FC, thanks to players like Lalchungnunga delivering a solid performance. The centre-back made four clearances and kept figures like Roy Krishna under check. 

LB – Laldinpuia (Jamshedpur FC)

Hyderabad FC’s pacy wingers could not find a way to get the better of Laldinpuia who was extremely impressive in the club’s 5-0 win. The left-back kept players like Nikhil Poojary, Abdul Rabeeh and more silent with powerful defending, quick movement and exceptional reading of the game.

CM – Jeremy Manzorro (Jamshedpur FC)

Jeremy Manzorro has been one of the most consistent performers at Jamshedpur FC this season. He proved once again why he is a key player for the team with his magnificent performance against Hyderabad FC. He provided one assist, created two big chances and finished the game with an 86% pass success rate. 

RW – Seiminlen Doungel (Jamshedpur FC)

Seiminlen Doungel did not start the game for Jamshedpur FC but made an instant impact after coming on as a substitute. He scored from long-range to kill any hopes of a Hyderabad FC comeback.

LW – Bipin Singh (Mumbai City FC)

Bipin Singh scored for Mumbai City FC in their 2-1 win over Mohun Bagan. The winger also provided the assist for Greg Stewart’s goal with a delicious cross from the flanks, thus playing a key role in the Islanders making a memorable comeback against the Mariners.

CAM – Madih Talal (Punjab FC)

Madih Talal mesmerised the crowd at the JLN Stadium (New Delhi) by scoring the winning goal in Punjab FC’s 1-0 win over Chennaiyin FC. The attacking midfielder also hit the crossbar with an acrobatic overhead kick during the game.

ST – Daniel Chima Chukwu (Jamshedpur FC)

Daniel Chima Chukwu delivered perhaps his best ISL performance in the past week. The striker scored a fabulous hat-trick against Hyderabad FC in a 5-0 win for the Men of Steel. 

ST – Noah Sadaoui (FC Goa)

Noah Sadaoui was unstoppable for FC Goa in their 4-1 demolition of Mohun Bagan. The attacker netted a brace in the first half to silence the crowd at the Salt Lake Stadium. He had chances to score a third too!
