The stage is all set for the 20th edition of the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. More than 11000 athletes have arrived for the continental event, which will feature 43 sports with 71 disciplines. Hockey is one of the core sports that will feature in the Aichi-Nagoya Games.
It has huge implications, as the gold medal winner gets a direct qualification into the upcoming Olympics under a continental quota.
Hockey is one of the few major sports that gives this advantage to the winners. Every team would not only be aiming for the gold medal but also to book a place at the Los Angeles Olympics 2028.

The penultimate league match for India will see them take on hosts Japan on September 26. The home team is one of the strongest in the competition, and the winner of this contest could be topping the group. Both teams would want to win the game and take an easy route to the finals.
