The win over Odisha FC helped FC Goa to climb to the top of the league table.

A brace from talismanic striker Ferran Corominas and a lone goal brace and Brandon Fernandes strike sealed all three points for FC Goa as they defeated Odisha FC on Sunday night. The win helped the Gaurs climb to the top of the table, dethroning Bengaluru FC to the second spot.

While the game saw momentary brilliance from Odisha FC, Josep Gombau's men failed to impress against a much superior FC Goa side. The hosts, on the other hand, excelled in all departments as they outsmarted Odisha FC to go two points clear of second placed Bengaluru FC in the standings. Here are how the Indian players performed at the game. [embed]https://youtu.be/l5CpgOLLIDE[/embed]

WATCH: Match Highlights - FC Goa 3-0 Odisha FC

FC Goa

Mohammad Nawaz (GK) – 6.5

The young shot-stopper had very little to do as the FC Goa defenders offered no space to attack. However, the keeper displayed great footwork and maintained his nerves as he managed to deliver the balls very well despite high pressure from the Odisha FC forwards.

Seriton Fernandes – 6.5

Seriton displayed high work rate throughout the game and was instrumental in constantly shutting down attacks from his side of the field. The defender had a great outing and made no mistake as he was often vying for possession with the Odisha FC wingers and managed to get the better of them.

Mandar Rao Dessai – 6.5

The Indian defender was solid at the back and played a huge part in keeping Jerry silent for most parts of the first half. His involvement in attack was marred by a couple of poor crosses. However, he managed to see the rest of the game without any errors and remained solid at the back.

Lenny Rodrigues – 6.0

Lenny put up a good shift in the midfield whenever required and had a great outing. He was instrumental in recoveries and turning moves into counters however his eye for goal was disappointing.

Jackichand Singh – 5.5

The winger started the game on the right note and was involved in the build up to FC Goa’s first goal but unfortunately had to be stretchered out within twenty minutes after picking up a knock.

Brandon Fernandes – 7.0

Brandon was actively involved in the game trying to set up his attackers in the right spaces but was offered no freedom by a resilient Odisha FC defence until he took matters into his own hands to have a go at goal himself and ended up on the scoresheet.

Substitutions

Seiminlen Doungel - 6.0

Len Doungel came on for the injured Jackichand Singh and kept the pressure on Odisha FC with his brilliant pace and runs into the box. The winger provided the right pace and movement off the ball to keep the defenders busy.

Manvir Singh – N/A

Manvir just had a couple of minutes on the clock and made no impact.

Odisha FC

Arshdeep Singh (GK) – 4.5

Arshdeep had plenty of shots fired at by the FC Goa attackers and managed to do well until he misjudged Brandon’s strike and let it through which helped FC Goa get a grip of the game towards the end.

Narayan Das– 5.5

The score-line does very little justice to the Odisha FC defenders and their resilience to deny Goa any clear chances until later parts of the second half. Narayan was often seen working himself through the line of players to get himself into crossing positions, his crosses however were disappointing and wasteful.

Shubham Sarangi – 5.5

The defender managed to keep his guard and gave Brandon no space to create chances. However, he was poor in defence and was poor in delivery often falling prey to FC Goa’s high press.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga – 4.5

A lot was expected of the winger but he failed to deliver. He was found at fault for Goa’s opener and didn’t seem to recover from it. It was too much of an ask for the youngster to find his target man who is being marked by Fall.

Nandhakumar Sekar – 5.0

Nandhakumar was often seeing combining with Narayan Das but neither of the players offered anything progressive and couldn’t manage to break past the FC Goa defence. The midfielder was struggling to keep possession of the ball and was poor in finding the right man for a pass.

Daniel Lalhlimpuia – 4.5

Daniel’s inclusion in the starting XI came in as a surprise and the forward didn’t offer anything to prove otherwise. He was hardly seen in open spaces and was rarely involved in the game and wasn’t fielded in the second half.

Substitutions

Gaurav Bora – 4.5

The youngster was brought in to the game at half time when FC Goa had majority of the possession and were reluctant to give away the ball. The defender didn’t offer much and was shaky at the back.

Romeo Fernandes – 4.5

Romeo was brought in for Jerry in the hope of handing Odisha a break but failed to do so. The winger’s involvement in the game was minimal and hardly made an impact in the game.
