The Indo-Australian pair is making their debut as a pair in the year-ending event.

The ATP Finals 2023 marks the end of the men’s professional tennis season, gathering the top eight singles players and doubles teams in Turin. This prestigious event is set to kick off on November 12 and conclude on November 19.

The doubles teams, much like the singles, are split into two groups: Red and Green. The red group comprises Rohan Bopanna/Matthew Ebden, Rajeev Ram/Joe Salisbury, Wesley Koolhof/Neal Skupski, and Rinky Hijikata/Jason Kubler.

In the green group, the top seeds are Ivan Dodig/Austin Krajicek, Santiago Gonzalez/Edouard Roger-Vasselin, Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos, and the all-Argentinian pair of Maximo Gonzalez/Andres Molteni.

The Indo-Australian pair of Rohan Bopanna/Matthew Ebden is making their debut appearance as a doubles team. Their qualification for the year-ending ATP Finals 2023 stems from an impressive season, securing two titles at Doha and Indian Wells—an ATP Masters event. They also reached the finals of three other ATP Masters events in Madrid, Shanghai, and Paris. Additionally, they were finalists at the 2023 US Open.

Bopanna and Ebden are set to face defending champions Rajeev Ram/Joe Salisbury on day 2, Monday (13/11/2023). The American-British duo previously bested Bopanna and Ebden at Flushing Meadows in September. The latter are eager to overturn that result in this encounter. Ram and Salisbury are participating in the Nitto ATP Finals for a fifth consecutive year.

The tournament follows a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the semifinals. The doubles team that secures an undefeated path to the final stands to earn a tidy €883,450 ($943,650), whereas a different outcome in the final awards €328,600 ($351,000). A victory in the final comes with 500 ATP points, increasing to 1500 ATP points if they maintain an undefeated record.
