Carlos Alcaraz, Lorenzo Musetti and Felix Augur Aliassime have made their Games debut at the Paris Olympics 2024.
A total of 64 singles players started at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the first round. However, only four of the total individuals remain as the semi-finals are approaching. Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic, who’s reportedly suffering from knee pain, will face Italy’s 22-year-old breakthrough star Lorenzo Musetti.
Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz will lock horns with a familiar counterpart, Canada’s Felix Augur Aliassime. Hence, without further ado, let’s take a look at the predictions for the men’s singles semi-finals at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Felix Augur Aliassime
Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz will face Canada’s Felix Augur Aliassime in the semi-final of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Felix Augur Aliassime has emerged as a breakthrough star in the men’s singles event in the French capital. Meanwhile, Alcaraz has been the hot favourite to win the Olympic gold since the start.
The 21-year-old also played doubles alongside his long-time idol Rafael Nadal at Stade Roland Garros. However, the Spanish duo was eventually eliminated in the quarter-finals by America’s Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek 6-2, 6-4 earlier this week. During his quarter-final win over Tommy Paul, Alcaraz stated that he was feeling tired but playing for his country gave him the much-needed strength.
Consequently, with a tied head-to-head record of 3-3, Alcaraz also defeated Felix Augur Aliassime in the fourth round at the 2024 French Open 6-3, 6-3, 6-1. Returning to the same venue, Alcaraz is likely to beat the Canadian; however, Stade Roland Garros is no stranger to upsets.
Prediction: Alcaraz to win in straight sets.

Novak Djokovic vs Lorenzo Musetti
Novak Djokovic defeated two-time Grand Slam runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6 (7/3) to enter his fourth career semi-final at the Olympics. However, the Serbian tennis star’s dream of finishing at the top place of the podium is under a question mark after he had to take medical treatment and painkillers for his knee.
On Court Philippe Chatrier, Tsitsipas challenged Djokovic to display his tennis prowess as he was keen for a victory over the 24-time Grand Slam champion. The Serb saved three match points during the second set and forced it into a tiebreak, eventually winning it 7-3.
However, with a knee issue, the Serb will play a rematch of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships semi-final against Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti. The 22-year-old has been in top form recently. At the All England Lawn Tennis Club, he played his first Grand Slam semi-final. Moreover, after Jannik Sinner’s withdrawal, he’s in medal contention for Italy at the Olympics.
In the quarter-finals, the Italian tennis star stunned defending gold medalist Alexander Zverev 7-5, 7-5 in two hours and five minutes. Before facing Zverev, he made his place in the quarter-final with a convincing win over America’s Taylor Fritz. Thus, Novak Djokovic is expected to overcome a neck-to-neck battle against Musetti to reach the final in Paris.
Prediction: Lorenzo Musetti to win in three sets.
