WWE SmackDown Results & Winners (October 13, 2023): Roman Reigns returns, new challenger confronts

The October 13, 2023 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is officially over. This is the Season Premiere episode filled with number of significant things, featuring some of the bests in the business such as Triple H, Roman Reigns, John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Nick Aldis, Charlotte Flair, Kevin Owens, Jade Cargill and so many. SmackDown Summary

John Cena Kicked-off

"The GOAT" John Cena kicked-off this week's episode of SmackDown. He welcomes the WWE Universe to the Season Premiere of SmackDown.

Roman Reigns returned

"The Tribal Chief" Roman Reigns returned to the ring with Paul Heyman & Solo Sikoa. John Cena chants everywhere. Roman gets the mic. He opens the show in a right way, got "Acknowledged" by the WWE Universe.

Reigns called Cena "Coward" as he came when Reigns is off on leave and claimed himself the "GOAT". He asks Cena to leave the ring or he'll make him leave. Cena said "SmackDown is unpredictable" and not here to challenge him, instead introduces Roman Reigns newest opponent who earned his spot, that is "LA Knight".

LA Knight confronts Roman Reigns

LA Knight stood face-to-face with Roman Reigns, introduced himself and the crowd went for a huge pop. Reigns asked what makes him stand in front of The Tribal Chief? He claimed that he is the fastest raising star in SmackDown. Jimmy Uso came out of nowhere and attacked Knight, but Knight took him out. Roman Reigns retreat. Solo challenged Knight for a one-on-one match tonight and Knight accepted.

The Brawling Brutes vs Pretty Deadly

Butch and Prince started the match, as Butch stomped on the same injured shoulder of Prince. Kitt Wilson tagged-in, as Butch & Holland went for a 10 beats to the Chest. After the commercial, Kitt Wilson attacked Butch and tags Elton Prince-in. He tried to go for a 10 shots to the chest, but Butch stretches his fingers. Wilson tags in and look to control Butch, but he escaped both and tagged Holland.

Holland slams both down and delivered a Bench Press-Slam. Wilson took Butch down with a over head throw to the apron. Elton Prince acts like he hurt his leg, as referee checks Kitt Wilson kicked Holland on the face and Prince pinned him for the win.

Winner: Pretty Deadly Ratings: 3.5/5

Backstage

• Carlito was interviewed backstage and asked about how he feels about his return, to which he said "Cool". Lashley interfered Carlito, as "The Caribbean Cool" challenged Lashley for a match, but got hit by the Street Profits from the back. Lashley grabbed the chair to attack him, but Adam Pierce and referees stopped them. LWO came to see Carlito. Where Bayley came to picked-up a fight with Zelina Vega.
• The Bloodline was on the backstage, where Roman talked to Jimmy. Jimmy said that he would bring Jey back to The Bloodline, but Roman didn't want him, but he wants the Tag Team Championship that he has. He stated that Jey holding the championship title with Cody Rhodes is an insult, and orders him to take the title away from him. Jimmy said "YEET!". Reigns replied that he hate that word.

Bayley vs Zelina Vega

Bayley mocked her height, and got hit by Zelina. She hit a right hand to the face and a couple of shoulder throw. Bayley soon took control with a clothesline and looks for a Belly to Belly Suplex, but Zelina Vega countered with a rolling kick, 619 of the bottom rope and Meteora. IYO distracted the ref. as Bayley used the distraction to deliver "Rose Plant" on Vega for the win.

After the match, Damage CTRL attacked Zelina, but Charlotte Flair came to the ring to make them retreat.

Winner: Bayley Ratings: 3/5

Triple H introduced the New SmackDown General Manager

"The King of Kings" came to the ring with a huge pop, where he said that he missed those chants for a long time. Honor praised Adam Pierce and said that Pearce is promoted as the New General Manager of Raw and he got a new General manager for SmackDown.

Dominik Mysterio interrupted them and stated that Cody & Jey took their titles and are defending their championship with having a rematch on Raw next week. He said that Adam Pearce made injustice to them. Triple H said that he isn't responsible of SmackDown as he introduces the new SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis (Mickie James' husband).

Nick Aldis introduced new member of SmackDown

Aldis said that he is a huge fan of "Dom...'s father Rey" and went on to introduce the newest member of SmackDown- Kevin Owens. Owens walked his way to the ring and stunned Dom right away and showed respect to Aldis, Triple H & Adam Pearce.

Backstage

• Roman watched everything on TV, he said that he is unhappy with Owens, Cody, Jey, Cena, Knight on his show and Jimmy on his couch. He said Jimmy to do what he says and sent Jimmy & Solo to take care of the business.
• Chelsea Green and Piper Niven met Nick Aldis backstage, stating that the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship are cursed and they wanted a new championships with an Italian Leather.
• Charlotte came to meet Aldis, where Aldis said that with him in control things would be different and said and gave Charlotte Flair the WWE Women's Championship title shot next week.
• Jade Cargill was on the backstage with Triple H, Honor introduced Jade to Charlotte, but she already knew her. They had a quick face-off and Charlotte walked out.

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship

Cody & Waller start the match, with Cody dominating their opponents with fired-up strikes. Jey tagged-in sent Waller out after Theory tagged in and sent Jey out. After commercial, Theory controls Jey with a headlock and pull down. Theory took Jey to their corner, tags Waller in. Theory has Jey on his knee and Waller went for a top rope elbow drop from the top rope.

Cody & Theory tagged-in, Cody was fired up! He took both Theory & Waller with a Disaster Kick. Jey with a Superkick to both and both delivered a Cody-One D. Jey suicide dived on Waller, as Cody hit Theory with a Cross Rhodes for the win.

When Jey & Cody walk their way on the entrance ramp, Roman Reigns music played. Solo Sikoa, Jimmy, Roman has a face-off with Cody & Jey. Nick Aldis stopped him stating "not tonight!"

Winner: Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso Ratings: 3.8/5

Solo Sikoa vs LA Knight

They square off as Knight as Knight went for a initial strike. Solo hit a back elbow and clothesline, Knight delivered a Neck breaker. Knight sent Solo out, but when dragging him in. Solo rand Knight's face through the ring post sends Knight down.

After the commercial, Solo controlled Knight with a clutch to the neck. Knight lifted Solo  but he landed on him. Solo delivered a corner hip splash of Knight. Knight fought back, with strike to the face and a Bull Dog from middle rope. Solo slowed down his momentum with a Samoan Drop. Solo tried for a corner splash, but landed face first on the ring post. Knight with rapid punches, flying clothesline, DDT, running knee splash, powerslam and a signature elbow drop.

While measuring for a BFT, Jimmy came to the ring. Cena came out of nowhere and delivers him an AA, Solo Samoan spiked Cena, Knight BFT-ed Solo for the win. After the match Roman Reigns delivered a spear and makes a statement as SmackDown went-off air.
