On the latest episode of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes confronted Roman Reigns and said that he wants the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. He said that he not only wanted the title but also looks to take everything from him. Cody then said that he is coming for Roman Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but not at WrestleMania 40.

As the fans got confused, Cody said that he had heard from his friends, family, and veterans about his decision. And finally heard from a special council, who knows Roman Reigns very well and it was found out to be The Rock. The Rock came out, shook hands with Cody Rhodes, hugged him and had a deep stare with Roman Reigns. As the fans were angry with Cody Rhodes booking for dumping Cody Rhodes, a recent backstage report reveals the details behind Cody’s booking direction.

Cody Rhodes to unify the World Championships

According to the PW Insider’s recent report, the change in direction of Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 40 plans was not made overnight. The reports suggest that some within WWE already know that WWE is open about the idea of Cody Rhodes winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania and then challenging the winner of The Rock vs Roman Reigns at Summerslam for a title unification match to finish his story.

“While finishing the story was primed to climax at WrestleMania  40, there were already some in WWE openly talking about the idea of Cody Rhodes winning the World Heavyweight Championship and then challenging the winner of Roman Reigns vs The Rock for Summerslam in a Title unification bout so that Cody could finally finish the story.”

What are your thoughts on the current booking of WWE with regards to The Rock vs Roman Reigns booking for WrestleMania 40?
