WWE SmackDown Results, Highlights & Winners (February 09, 2024): Triple H returns & Elimination Chamber Qualifiers
Triple H teases heat, Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton & Bianca Belair qualified for Elimination Chamber match and much more!
The February 09, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is finally over and it clears the paves way for the Elimination Chamber PLE. WWE held a number of Elimination Chamber Qualifying matches and three of them punched their ticket to Perth, Western Australia. Triple H addressed WrestleMania XL kick-off
The Chief Content Officer, Triple H kicks-off Friday Night SmackDown. Triple H is joined by Raw & SmackDown GM’s Adam Pearce & Nick Aldis. He addressed last night WrestleMania XL Kick-off. He said that the road got a firey start to the road to WrestleMania. Triple H says that someone doesn’t know there role. They tried to set the authority, but they don’t own any. Triple H says that the only one to give answers will be from him. He says that Roman Reigns will defend his title at the main event against Cody Rhodes. He think that somebody won’t like the decision, but it doesn’t matter what they feel. Triple H welcomes WWE Universe to the road to WrestleMania.
Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match Participants
Nick Aldis said that as the WWE Championship match is confirmed, they will now look for an opponent for the World Heavyweight Champion. They planned for an Elimination Chamber Match & Adam Pearce announced the 12 participants for the qualifying match- Randy Orton, Bronson Reed, Kevin Owens, Logan Paul, AJ Styles, The Miz, Bobby Lashley, Ivar, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, Dominik Mysterio & LA Knight.
Adam Pearce announced that the Qualifying Match will start know and the first match will be Drew McIntyre vs AJ Styles. Drew came first and teased CM Punk and the merch he wears mocking Punk.
Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match- Drew McIntyre vs AJ Styles
LA Knight came ringside before the match to be on the commentary for the match. As the bell rang, AJ Styles kicks Drew’s leg, and Drew delivered a chop. Drew hit a vertical suplex and chops Styles. He quickly fights back by giving Chops in return, but Drew took him down with a back breaker on his knee. Styles climbed the top rope, Drew chops Styles outside the ring and threw him over the barricade to the time keeper’s area.
After the commercial, AJ delivered a Tornado DDT to Drew on the middle of the ring. Styles delivered his signature series of strikes and hit a running forearm. Drew then chopped Styles to the corner, and took him to the top rope. But Styles hit a sunset power bomb on Drew.
However, Drew stood up soon to deliver a Future Shock DDT and looks for a Claymore, but Styles escape. Styles looks for a phenomenal fore arm, but Drew pushed him out and towards Knight. While entering the ring, Styles rolled McIntyre, but ref is distracted by Knight. While AJ went to attack Knight, Drew hit a Claymore on him for the win.
Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match- Bianca Belair vs Michin
Belair looks to finish the match soon and looks for a KOD, but Michin escapes and fights Belair. Michin took Belair with a couple of kick and sent her out. She then kicked her on the ribs to take control. After the commercial, Michin sends Belair shoulder first to the ring post. Both exchange hands and Michin yoom Belair down with clothesline, kick to the chest and neck breaker.
Belair countered Michin’s cannon ball and looks to take control. Belair looks for the lion sault, but Michin has her knees up. Belair however eacapes and took her to the corner for a series of punches to the face. But, Michin escapes and took her with a powerbomb. Michin delivered the lost in the wood, but Belair fell out. Michin took her to the ring, but Belair delivered KOD on Michin for the win.
Backsage- Bron Breakker, Triple H & Paul Heyman
Bron Breakker meets Triple H. They discuss about Bron’s performance and his contract negotiation. Paul Heyman met Triple H and says that he will be back next week with Roman Reigns & The Rock.
Bayley announces her departure from Damage CTRL
Bayley has some great reception from the WWE Universe. She says that they support them because they were part of her journey. Bayley says that Damage CTRL meant everything for her, and she did everything for the faction. She thought that she could fix the problem after winning the Royal Rumble, but they kept dumping them.
Dakota Kai came to the ring and tried to stop Bayley ghosting her. Bayley is clear that Dakota was also with them and talked on her back. Kai explains that she is in a tough situation, but she always wanted Damage CTRL to be one.
Kai says that Damage CTRL stood on her dream. Kabuki Warriors won the tag team gold on her plan. IYO SKY, with Kabuki Warriors surround Bayley, where Kai took a chair on her hands teasing of attacking Bayley. But Kai went on to make IYO SKY & Kabuki Warriors retreat. Bayley and Kai stay on the ring and the trio left the ring.
#1 Contender’s Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Match- Tyler Bate & Pete Dunne vs #DIY
Bate and Gargano started the match, where both tried counter each other’s move. Whil running through the rope, Dunne tags in and took Gargano down. Ciampa takes the tag in a similar way and took Dunne down. Ciampa threw Dunner over the commentary desk and Gargano took Bate down. Ciampa hit a running knee on Dunne to take control before the commercial.
After the commercial, Ciampa took both Bate and Dunne down single handedly. #DIY is fired up as Gargano and Ciampa took Dunne & Bate with forearm strikes and combination moves. Bate however took Gargano and Ciampa for a helicopter spin.
Dunne stomps on Gargano’s finger and was sent out. Bate looks for his signature clothesline, but Ciampa hit him with a knee to the face. When DIY looks for a meet in the middle, Dunne caught Ciampa and extended his finger, Gargano super kicked Dunne and Ciampa hit him with a knee to send him out. Bate took both with a clothesline and jumps over Ciampa. Dunne tags in and hit his finisher for the win.
Backstage- Dominik Mysterio Interview
Dominik Mysterio says that Priest and Balor will defeat Bate & Dunne. Dom will win the World Heavweight Championship and will have matching title with Rhea Ripley. Byron Saxton asked about the qualifying match, to which Kevin Owens interrupted and said that he is the one who he is facing next week in the qualifying match. Dom walks away, Truth came confusing Owens to Miz. He says that he is supposed to be on Raw, and be safe from Nick. Owens asks is it Nick Mysterio & Truth says Nick Aldis.
Backstage- Logan Paul & Nick Aldis
Logan Paul ask that he asked to pick him an opponent, but he added him to the elimination chamber qualifying match. He is already qualified, he is a prize fighter. Logan is calmed down and ask who is his opponent. Aldis says that he will be facing the one he knows very well, it’s The Miz.
Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match- Randy Orton vs Sami Zayn
Orton locks Sami’s head, but Sami escaped and pushed Orton out of the ring. Orton took Zayn to the corner to land punches on his face and hit and upper cut tk send him out. Orton pushed Sami to the barricade, but Zayn hit him with a moonsault. Sami then took Orton to the announcement desk and back dropped him over it.
After the commercial, Sami hit a Tornado DDT and went to the top rope, but Orton stopped him and hit a vertical super-plex. Orton seem like he hurt his back again. Sami took Orton to the corner and targeted his mid-sction, but Orton fights back. Orton looks for an elevated DDT, but Zayn tossed him down.
Orton hit Sami a back drop on the announcement desk and hit an elevated DDT. Orton looks for RKO, but Zayn counters with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Orton delivers RKO to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match. After he match, Drew McIntyre showed up and has face off with Randy Orton to end SmackDown.
