Everything that happened on WWE NXT Great American Bash (August 06, 2024): Wes Lee turns on Rascalz

The 8/6 episode of WWE NXT is the Great American Bash week 2 special episode!
WWE hosted the August 06, 2024 episode of WWE NXT live from Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida, United States. It is the NXT Great American Bash Week 2 special episode and WWE has showcased some of the exciting matches and segments on the special show.
Get to know what happened on WWE NXT this week, as we came out with a detailed summary of everything that happened on the show.
Trick Williams vs Pete Dunne
Trick Williams vs Pete Dunne’s singles match kicked off this week’s NXT. The match began with Trick delivering a drop kick and Dunne delivering a couple of chops. Dunne went for a submission, but Trick stopped him with a vertical suplex. Dunne targeted Williams’ finger and looked for a submission the majority of the time, however, Trick powered him up with the counter offense. Both had a great fight inside and outside the ring, exchanging suplexes, lariats, flapjack and stomps. In the final moments of the match, Trick looked for a Trick Shot, but Dunne countered with a bitter end to win the match.
NXT Women’s North American Championship Match- Kelani Jordan (C) vs Tatum Paxley
The match began with both Kelani Jordan and Tatum Paxley countering each other’s submission maneuver. Jordan with the arm drag, shoulder tackle and leg drop to take initial control. Paxley took control when the match went outside.
In the mid-match, Wendy Choo came to the ring side to take Paxley’s doll. Paxley was distracted, however, Jordan took her to the ring to deliver DDT and moonsault, but Paxley avoided it. In the final moments of the match, Jorden delivered a Spanish Fly and followed it with a Splash to win the match and retain the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
After the match, Choo handed her doll to Paxley and locked her with the submission maneuver and Jordan made the save.
Backstage
Tony D’Angelo and Myles Borne had a backstage talk with Wres Sinclair, where D’Angelo said that he would defend his title against Dempsey if Sinclair won his match tonight.
Backstage Brawl
Pete Dunne and Trick Williams brawled backstage and the officials separated them.
NXT Championship Match- Ethan Page (C) vs Oro Mensah
The match began with Oro Mensah delivering chops, hurrican-rana, splash and a running kick to Page. Mensah continued with forearm strikes and chops. Page fought back sending Mensah to the turnbuckle and a boot to the face. The match swung on both sides, with both delivering strikes, kicks and brawling outside the ring. In the final moments of the match, Mensah looked to jump from the top rope, but Page avoided and delivered the Ego’s Edge for the win.
Joe Coffey vs Joe Hendry
Joe Coffey and Joe Hendry had a singles match. The match began with Hendry flying from the top rope to take on Coffey and Wolfgang outside the ring. Coffey hit a backbreaker on Hendry and Hendry countered with a jumping knee and a crossbody.
During the mid-match, Mark & Wolfgang tried to attack Hendry, where the TNA star grabbed a steel chair and gave it to Wolfgang, the referee saw Gallus with the chair and sent them backstage. Coffey got confused and distracted, and Hendry tried to roll Coffey. In the final moments of the match, Hendry delivered a fall-away slam to pick up the win and received a standing ovation.
Wren Sinclair vs Kendal Grey
Both the women tried for their submission maneuver, where Grey escaped to deliver a crossbody on Sinclair. Both had brief control and the momentum swung both sides. Grey delivered a couple of suplexes to Sinclair and Myles Borne distracted the referee, to give Sinclair his momentum. In the final moments of the match, Sinclair pinned Grey to win the match.
Backstage
Oba Femi announced that he will be defending his NXT North American Championship next week, but the challenger is unknown.
NXT Tag Team Championship Match- Axiom & Nathan Frazer (C) vs MSK (Wes Lee & Zachary Wentz)
The Supersonic Duo (Axiom & Nathan Frazer) defended their NXT Tag Team Championship on the line against MSK (Wes Lee & Zachary Wentz) in the main event of the show. The match took place at a high pace with back-to-back tag-ins and super extraordinary high-flying maneuvers. In the final moments of the match, Axiom & Frazer delivered a superkick-brainbuster combination on Wes Lee, but Lee kicked out. However, Axiom delivered the Golden Ratio on Lee and pinned him for the win.
After the match, Lee attacked both Miguel and Wentz with a super kick and low blow. Lee sent Wentz away and attacked Miguel outside the ring to the barricade and the steel steps and stood tall inside the ring, only to get booed by the NXT Universe.
