‘The Tribal Chief’ is one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time

Roman Reigns is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, who has been with WWE since 2012. Roman is a nine-time champion in WWE, which involves six world championship reigns. He is the ninth Grand Slam Champion and 28th Triple Crown Champion of the company and has achieved monumental success in the pro-wrestling industry. Although Roman has always been in the prime of his career, he has the one issue that has always affected his personal, as well as his professional career, which is ‘Leukemia’.

Roman has been suffering from Leukemia for a long time and had his first diagnosis in 2007. However, in 2018, his condition worsened and he had to announce publicly about his Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. Roman said that it is incurable but treatable. However, within months he came out to WWE and announced that he was in remission and continued wrestling. Does Roman Reigns still have Leukemia? Here is all we know about Roman Reigns’ real-life fight.

Roman Reigns is still in remission with Leukemia

At WrestleMania XL Night 1, during the main event match of The Rock & Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins, Pat McAfee on the commentary noted that Roman Reigns is still battling Leukemia.

This became a huge talking point when Reigns was asked about his medical status in the post-show media scrum. Roman confirmed that he is still in remission and said that he is still on oral chemotherapy, which he will likely be having for life. Roman however said that he would still be able to perform.

Roman Reigns said,

“Well, I’m still on oral chemotherapy. It’s a medication that I’m going to have to remain on my entire life most likely. So yeah, that’s just a part of my personal battle. It doesn’t affect…thank God, I’m still able to perform. I think anybody in my position would say, health is wealth. And as long as I can continue to perform, then you already know that that’s at bay, so we’re good. We’re still in remission. But it is something that is still a part of my life.”

Roman also addressed it in the A&E Biography, which was released during the WWE WrestleMania XL Weekend. He said that life is unfair and that he will have to undergo a very potent medication, which is just a conditioning process to get used to these toxic medications and hope for the best.

Roman Reigns said,

“For leukemia, if you caught it an early enough stage like I did, you’re able to take, essentially, a medication, a very potent medication that I’m still on to this day, but it’s pretty much just a conditioning of getting your body used to these toxic medications and just hoping for the best.”
