The 8/26 episode of WWE Raw is the Bash in Berlin Go-home show

The August 26, 2024 episode of WWE Raw is expected to be a watershed moment, serving as the last program for the highly anticipated “Bash in Berlin” event.

With numerous big bouts and segments revealed, including the commencement of the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament, fans are excited to see what surprises WWE has in store. Here are the top five surprises that may occur on tonight’s edition of Raw.

4. Return of Former Intercontinental WWE Champion

While the tournament to decide the #1 challenger for Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship is about to begin, a previous champion may make an unexpected comeback to stake their claim.

Superstars such as Shinsuke might return to Raw, throwing down a challenge to the tournament victor or even enter the tournament as a last-minute addition, resulting in a multi-man situation for “Bash in Berlin.”

3. Major heel turn

WWE enjoys swerving its audience, especially on go-home programs, and this episode of Raw might be no exception. A prominent babyface turning heel—perhaps someone in the Intercontinental Championship Tournament or perhaps a current tag team partner—could significantly change the landscape of WWE.

2. Uncle Howdy’s dominant In-Ring debut

Uncle Howdy is set to make his WWE in-ring debut against Chad Gable. With American Made and Wyatt Sicks rumored to interfere, Howdy’s debut could be more dominant than expected.

If Uncle Howdy decisively defeats Gable, despite interference attempts, it would establish him as a serious threat in WWE.

This could lead to a post-match beatdown or a promo that hints at his plans, possibly involving Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Sicks, to build intrigue heading into “Bash in Berlin.”

1. No contest between Braun Strowman and Bronson Reed

Last week, Braun Strowman made a surprise return to Raw, intervening to stop Bronson Reed from assaulting The Miz. This week, the two powerhouses will face off in a highly anticipated singles encounter.

Given the heat between them, WWE may plan a no-contest ending in which both men are called out or disqualified following a furious brawl outside the ring.

This outcome would safeguard both superstars and set up a rematch, maybe with a condition, at “Bash in Berlin.”
