Randy Orton might get a rematch against The King General
Randy Orton faced a tough defeat at the hands of Gunther in the WWE King of the Ring finals in Saudi Arabia. Gunther’s victory earned him a shot at the World Heavyweight Title at SummerSlam, but the controversy surrounding the match’s ending left many wondering about Orton’s future.
During the match, one of Orton’s shoulders was clearly off the mat during the pinfall, sparking immediate controversy. Despite this, Triple H confirmed in a post-show interview that the referee’s decision stands, though he acknowledged Orton’s right to a rematch once he recovers from his injuries.
Orton might take time off
Orton recently returned to WWE after nearly two years due to a severe back injury. However, his intense match with Gunther at King and Queen of the Ring resulted in new injuries. Triple H revealed that Orton suffered issues with his knee and back, stating, “Having seen Randy back here, he’s pretty banged up, both his knee and his back. I think it’s gonna be a moment or two before he is ready to step back into the ring.”
While the exact duration of Orton’s recovery is unclear, the injury does not appear to be long-term. Fans might see The Viper return by Clash at the Castle in Scotland, if not sooner. For now, Orton needs quality rest to recover fully from his latest physical battle.
Randy Orton has high praises for Triple H
The shift in WWE’s leadership, with Triple H taking over from Vince McMahon, has brought significant changes and praise from both staff and fans. Orton himself has expressed confidence in Triple H’s leadership.
In an interview with Kayla Braxton ahead of King and Queen of the Ring, Orton shared, “With Triple H, it’s the same thing. That’s one of the main things that I see. I’ll be able to do this, and I love doing this, I’ll be able to do it for a very long time because of Triple H. He’s the guy for the job. He just knows the right thing to do, whether it’s in the ring or outside of the ring.”
