The debut episode of the Red brand will be a PLE-like show
The Stamfrod-based promotion is all set for the highly anticipated January 06 debut of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. The historic debut episode will be aired live from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.
Multiple top stars are set to appear on the historic show including Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, John Cena and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. The show also features a special appearance from hip-hop star Travis Scott.
Let us now take a look at the top five WWE storylines you should watch out for this week’s historic Monday night’s show which will stream live on Netflix.
5. Liv Morgan’s revenge tour
Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan recently shared her New Year’s resolution the first being defeating Rhea Ripley for the final time. Morgan will defend the crown against Ripley at the debut show.
While Morgan wants to continue her reign and defeat Ripley to end the rivalry once and for all. Ripley wants to exact her revenge and regain the title which she never lost in the first place. Ripley had to vacate the title due to an injury which was caused by Morgan.
It will be interesting to see how Morgan handles Ripley and what tactics The Judgment Day will employ to assist her in defending the title.
4. Cody Rhodes’ appearance
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is set to make an appearance on the debut show of the Red brand. While The American Nightmare is not medically cleared to compete due to the injury caused by Kevin Owens, he will still show up to address the crowd in Inglewood.
The segment could become earth-shattering if The Rock makes his return and confronts Rhodes, reigniting their feud from last year. Better yet, John Cena could interrupt Rhodes during the segment and reveal his desire to become the 17-time WWE Champion.
Cena could challenge Rhodes laying out a plan that goes through Royal Rumble PLE and ultimately leads to the grandest stage, WrestleMania 41.
3. John Cena’s farewell tour
Speaking of the ‘G.O.A.T’, John Cena is set to kick off his retirement tour on the debut episode of the Red brand. Cena will wrestle full-time in 2025 and will hang up his wrestling boots at the end of this year.
Many top stars, as well as newcomers, would love to wrestle him, it would be exciting to see who gets a chance to be a part of the farewell tour. This will also be the last time fans can see Cena in action inside the squared ring.
2. CM Punk vs Seth Rollins
‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk will lock horns with ‘The Visionary’ Seth Rollins in the main event of the debut episode on January 6. The feud between the two reignited during the Survivor Series fallout show of the Red brand last month.
The deep animosity between the two quickly took over and the war of words turned into a brawl which led to the announcement of the match. Punk and Rollins engaged in a fierce promo in the last week’s episode, each delivering scathing comments and personal attacks.
It is obvious that the rivalry between the two will not end after the match but what would be interesting to see is if the two stars continue their feud or shift their focus towards the title. Punk had clearly stated his intentions to fight for the title and headline WrestleMania until he was interrupted by Rollins.
1. Drew McIntyre vs OG Bloodline
‘The Scottish Warrior’ Drew McIntyre made his return on the Survivor Series fallout show last month and targeted Jey Uso and Sami Zayn. McIntyre made it clear that he will not rest until he has taken out every member of the OG Bloodline.
The Scottish Warrior first set his sights on Sami Zayn who has never been able to defeat him inside the squared ring. The two stars locked horns on December 14 at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Drew kept his unbeaten streak and pinned Zayn.
McIntyre’s next target from the OG faction is now Jey Uso, the two stars are set to clash in the Raw debut episode. It will be crucial for Jey to stop McIntyre in his tracks or he will decimate every member of the OG Bloodline and the next person in his sight will probably be Jey’s brother Jimmy Uso.
How excited are you for the clash between CM Punk and Seth Rollins? Can Jey Uso stop Drew McIntyre or will he be his second target? Let us know your predictions for the debut show in the comments section.
