AJ Styles returns but injured, Tiffany Stratton teases MITB cash-in, Chelsea Green gets dumped, The Bloodline retains & much more!
The October 04, 2024 episode of WWE SmackDown is the WWE Bad Blood 2024 Go-home show. WWE has showcased some of the interesting matches and segments for the show including a tag team title match. Get to know what happened on this week’s episode of SmackDown, as we came out with the complete summary, highlights, results and winners list for the show.
WWE SmackDown Summary & Highlights
AJ Styles returns
The Nashville’s own American Singer & Song Writer Hardy was on the stage and he invited AJ Styles to the ring. Styles addressed the WWE universe and said that he feels sorry for what he done in the last couple of months as a heel. But he didn’t came to talk about the past, instead came to rebuild his legacy. Styles said that a lot of people in the backstage are not happey with his return.
Before Styles finish his statement Carmelo Hayes interrupted him and said that no one is ready to welcome Styles, except him. Melo said that he no need introduction, as he defeated Andrade thrice and the one who deserves to be the United States Champion.
Melo mentioned LA Knight’s name, with whom Styles has long history with. Styles gave him an advice to be careful with Knight, but Melo said that he doesn’t need his advice, as he is a quitter. Styles heard enough and challenged him for a match, but Melo regrets.
LA Knight interrupted them and said that he heard what they were talking. He addresed what Melo said and wish to offer him two things, one is burrying his head into the mat and other is a title shot, if he wish to win Styles. This resulted in Melo vs Styles match.
AJ Styles vs Carmelo Hayes
Both exchanged strikes and had brief control, with momentum swinging both the sides. Before the commercial, Styles tried for a springboard moonsault, but landed hard, and Melo connected with a springboard back kick and sent Styles out of the ring.
During the commercial, Doctor checked Styles’ ankle, however he managed to compete performing a slam on his knee, which got him worsr. Styles screamed in pain and referee stopped the match, announcing Styles could not compete in the match, giving the win to Melo.
Styles limped to backstage and LA Knight delivered a BFT to Melo in the middle of the ring.
Dumpster Match- Michin vs Chelsea Green
Michin came out with a Trash Can with two kendo sticks. She gives one stick to Green. Michin hit Green with a couple of strikes yo send her out and deliver a suicide dive. Michin introduces another Trash Can and a table to the ring. Green tried for a suicide dive, but Michin hit her with the lid. Michin tried to dump Green, but Green escape to drive Michin’s face to the dumpster lid.
Chelsea tried to send Michin to the Dumpster, but Michin performed a DDT and Eat Defeat, but Chelsea fights back delivering a Canadian Destroyer. Green pushed Michin to the Dumpster, but couldn’t able to close the dumpster.
Michin fights with the trash bag and takes Green inside the ring to deliver Eat Defeat. Michin sneaks out and lays a table over the dumpster. Piper Niven attacks Michin from the back and delivered a senton. While trying for the Cannon Ball, Michin hit her back to the dumpster. Chelsea tried to throw, Michin to the Dumpster, but Michin powerbombed Green crashing through the table inside the dumpster and closed the lid to win the match.
Bayley calls out Nia Jax
Bayley said that she got an opportunity to become the champion again within the next 24 hours and called out Nia Jax to the ring. The champ came out with Tiffany Stratton and asked Bayley to say it on her face. Jax asks Bayley to say it on her face. Bayley says that Nia Jax didn’t understand the significance of the title. Bayley says that the title is held by some legends, but she agreed saying that no one had dominant run like Jax.
Jax says that only two person could dethrone Nia Jax, one is Bayley herself and the other is Tiffany Strstton with the briefcase. Tiffy stops her saying that she doesn’t need thr MITB briefcase to defeat Nia and things started heating up. Jax stopped her and Stratton tries to cover it.
Bayley does the trash talk and fights Stratton and Jax. Bayley with the running knee takes the champ down. Tiffany has her sights on Nia with the MITB briefcase in her hand. Jax and Stratton have a stare at each other and Jax walks out of the ring.
Backstage
- Chelsea Green is being bullied by Pretty Deadly, A-Town Down Under, Los Garza and Nick Aldis for being dumped in the Dumpster.
- Carmelo Hayes met Aldis asking for a US title match, and he says that he first need to check on Styles.
Naomi vs Tiffany Stratton
Naomi takes the fight to Tiffany Stratton and takes her for an initial control with a series of offenses locking her in the corner and locking her neck in the middle of the ring. Stratton tries to fight back, but Naomi drives her face first to the mat and with a vertical suplex. Stratton delivered a springboard Moonsault and sends her out with a clothesline. Naomi fights back with a kick to the back and the split-leg drop on the apron.
Naomi performed a backpack stunner after the commercial. Both exchange hands and Naomi takes control with a overhead kick and the running bull dog. Naomi slide-slaps and planted her head to the mat. Stratton counters Naomi to deliver a drop kick.
Naomi fough back to execute Crossbody and Stratton tried to counter, but Naomi took her down to deliver Split leg Moonsault. Stratton counters to perform Prettiest Moonsault. Naomi countered and rolled her for the win.
Backstage
Nia Jax met Tiffany Stratton and asks is he trying to tease of cashing-in her MITB on her. Nia advises her to concentrate on Liv Morgan, as it is the only way she can succeed. Jax wants assurance that she won’t cash-in on her and Stratton says that she is her queen.
WWE Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match
The challengers took a side and goes after the Bloodline. DIY takes Tonga Loa and Street Profits take on Tama Tonga. They try to take the champs out of the equation kicking them out of the ring. Back after commercial, every men are on top of the ladder trying to unhook the titles. Bloodline took everyone down. Ford tried to climb the ladder, but Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa took everyone down. Loa slams Dawkins on the ladder and Tama performs a Swanton using the springboard.
Dawkins took Tongans down sacrificing his body to deliver a swanton on the ladder. Montez Ford took everyone down with a over the rope suicide dive. After the commercial, Tama Tonga climbs the ladder and DIY pulls him down to perform a Shatter Machine. DIY tries for the Meet in the middle, but only Ciampa connects, as Loa took Gargano down.
Inside the ring, DIY put a ladder on Loa’s head and delivered the Meet in the middle to take down Loa. Gargano tries to climb the ladder, and Dawkins stops him. Gargano performed a springboard spear and Dawkins took him down. Ciampa tried to climb the ladder, but Street profits delivered the Lifted Blockbuster from top the ladder.
Dawkins climbs the ladder and Tama pushed him down. The Tongans took Dawkins with the ladder to the mid-section. Tama takes the steel chair to strike on Dawkins, but B-Fab pulls the chair. DIY attacked Tongans and laid Loa on the table and Montez Ford delivered a Frog Splash to break the table with Loa. Dawkins and DIY power bombed Tama Tonga through the announcement table.
DIY super-kicked Dawkins and tried to climb the ladder, but Montez Ford stops them. Dawkins joined them and both the team are very close. Dawkins and Ciampa fall on a ladder, and Ford and Gargano falls on another. Tonga Loa climbed the ladder and unhooked the titles to retain it. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu came out for the celebration. They raise for the ones and SmackDown comes to an end.

- Carmelo Hayes defeated AJ Styles, as Styles unable to compete after ankle injury.
- Michin defeated Chelsea Green in the Dumpster Match.
- Naomi defeated Tiffany Stratton by pinfall.
- Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa of The Bloodline defeated The Street Profits & DIY to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship in the ladder match.
