Top badminton players from around the world will congregate in Copenhagen, Denmark for the BWF World Championships 2023. There will be about 350 shuttlers competing in the 28th edition of the Championships from all over the world in five different divisions: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.

Four singles stars and five doubles pairs will represent India in the competition. The only Indians in the top 10 are HS Prannoy and the men’s doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, while other seeds in the draw include PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen along with pair of Treesa Jolly, and Gayatri Gopichand.
PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic champion, and the men’s doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty were given byes in the first round of the BWF World Championships 2023 draw.
Meanwhile, in order to get back up to position eight on the BWF world rankings, Lakshya Sen is hoping to score a lot of points in the upcoming BWF World Championships 2023. Meanwhile, it’s a very challenging draw for the WR-9 HS Prannoy who might see himself face world champion Viktor Axelsen in the quarterfinals.
Along with Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty in doubles, PV Sindhu, the top women’s singles player in India, received a first-round bye.
