Following the Arctic Open, the Denmark Open 2024 commenced on October 15th. The tournament, a BWF World Tour Super 750 event, will take place at the Arena Fyn in Odense, Denmark.
Double Olympics medalist PV Sindhu and semifinalist Lakshya Sen will play in their second straight tournament, having competed at the Arctic Open last week.
In men’s singles, Denmark’s Victor Axelsen is the top seed, while An Se Young of South Korea leads the women’s singles draw. Axelsen, at home, will be eyeing a second title in the tournament and first since 2021.
Sindhu, ranked 18th in BWF rankings, will spearhead India’s challenge in women’s singles. At the Artic Open, she lost in the first round to WR 28 Michelle Li of Canada. Meanwhile, Lakshya faced a second-round exit after receiving a walkover in the first.
