Chennai City draft second letter to AIFF, say thanks for payment of I-League prize money
The southern club also continued to keep up the pressure on the apex body in pursuance of their request to attend the upcoming Executive Committee meet.
The reigning I-League champions, Chennai City FC have released a follow-up to the open letter that they sent out to the AIFF last week, regarding the potential decision that the Indian FA will reportedly take on July 3rd, that could decide the future of the I-League.
In the letter, CCFC pointed out that they were yet to recieve their prize money for winning the I-League from the AIFF as well as reminding the organisation of the value and prestige that the competition has brought to Indian football.

Chennai City's second letter to AIFF
In response to the letter, the AIFF paid Chennai City FC their dues. In their follow-up, the club thanked the FA for expediting the matter of their payment. In CCFC’s original letter, they had also requested a seat at the Executive Committee meeting of the AIFF, either alone as the winners of the I-League or collectively, along with all the other clubs in the competition.
The South Indian club expressed their hope that their request for an invitation to the meeting would be entertained, with as much efficiency as their complaint about the delay in the payment was.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]Several of the clubs in the I-League have threatened to drag the AIFF to court if the decision does not go in their favour. However, a clause in the contract that the AIFF have with the FSDL states that the organization is within their rights to declare the ISL as the premier league of Indian football and that the I-League would be consecutively, temporarily or permanently put on hold.
The AIFF will come under tremendous scrutiny if it fails to declare the ISL, the top tier of Indian football. It remains to be seen if there is indeed any truth to these reports, but as it stands, the future of some of the country's and the world's oldest clubs hangs in the balance.
