World Wrestling Entertainmentis one of the most widely watched professional wrestling promotions

WWE is one of the most widely watched professional wrestling promotions for several decades and will continue to entertain for a longer time. The Veteran of this industry, Vince McMahon is the main reason behind the worldwide success of the company. There has been a debate for decades, among the fans on the nature of the business. Many viewers complain WWE is fake and offer hate to the industry, while others defend the industry by believing it to be real. Here we have the answer for the world’s most controversial question on whether WWE is fake or real?

Is WWE Fake?

Well the answer for this question is somewhat complex. If you consider WWE as a real sport then WWE is fake, as it is a choreographed, rehearsed performance done by professionally trained athletes. The Content which we see on the television is purely scripted. Even the company itself brands it as a “Sports Entertainment” and not as a real sport.

So What’s Real?

Though WWE being a scripted live performance, not everything is fake. The efforts the performers put in the ring and the pain they suffer while performing dangerous moves inside and outside the squared circle are real. Some wrestling moves such as superkick and the pedigree can be faked without hitting the opponents. Whereas few can not be faked such as Chokeslam, Suplex, and Powerbomb as they are hard to land without suffering real pain.

Over the last few years, WWE Superstars have been open about their match rehearsals and WWE also don’t want their audience to think of it as a real sport. The matches and storylines are scripted and practiced before performing in front of the live audience. This is done to minimize injury and provide maximum entertainment for their fans. WWE is not a real sport, as it is a shoot sports entertainment and it can never be compared to other sports. Now to answer the question, whether WWE is fake or real? WWE is partially real and partly fake. Rather than saying it as “fake”, it can be stated as “scripted”.
