WWE RAW Results & Winners (September 4, 2023): Gunther retains the Intercontinental Championship
Jey Uso-Sami, Judgment Day to hire two members, Nakamura not done with Rollins, Gunther retains and much more!
The September 4, 2023 episode of Raw is the fallout of Payback and featured multiple nail biting matches, segments, and interesting match bookings. Here is complete match summary on what happened on this week's episode of Raw, with the results, ratings and winner's list.
Match Summary
Main Event Jey Uso
Jey Uso kicked off the Monday Night Raw. He says that he missed the WWE Universe on the three week absence and thanked the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes to help him return to Raw. Jey feels peace here. He got interrupted by Sami Zayn. Zayn is happy to see Jey on Raw all on his own. Zayn offers a handshake to Jey, and they hug each other and it feels so Ucey. Drew McIntyre arrived before Jey Uso left and had a deep stare down. Zayn talked peace as Riddle came and had a stare down (as he was the reason for Jey’s absence).

Drew McIntyre & Matt Riddle vs The Viking Raiders [Tornado Tag Team Match]
McIntyre and Riddle had the initial control of the match before the first commercial as they sent both Eric and Ivar of The Viking Raiders down and went for the tables. Riddle & McIntyre taunted The Dudley Boyz and said "Get the Tables".
But after the commercial, the one who took the table is laid on the table, but escapes as Drew and Riddle Super-plexed Ivar, but didn’t hit the table as Eric moved the table to save Ivar. Eric with a knee strike to the face of McIntyre as both fight through, McIntyre delivered a Phantom Driver to Ivar. Eric grabbed Ivar out as McIntyre went chasing them.
McIntyre cleared the commentary table to slam Eric, but was countered by Ivar, and they tried to Powerbomb McIntyre on the commentary desk, but Riddle saved him. Eric & Ivar tried to powerbomb Riddle through the table, but Kofi came for the save. He hit both Eric and Ivar, but accidentally hit Riddle with the “Trouble in Paradise”. Ivar threw Kofi on Drew and delivered a double powerbomb to Riddle breaking the tables for the win.

Seth Rollins calls out Shinsuke Nakamura
Seth Rollins called out Shinsuke Nakamura, who attacked him after the match at Payback. He offered him a championship rematch then and there, only if he steps into the ring. Nakamura refused, as Rollins went chasing him and resulted in a Brawl. Adam Pearce with securities came to separate them, as Ricochet came and attacked Shinsuke Nakamura. (Ricochet earlier met Rollins and said that he got his back).

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Ricochet
After Ricochet’s attack on Shinsuke Nakamura, the match was made official during the commercial. After the bell, Nakamura walked away, but Ricochet chased him and attacked from behind. Nakamura fought back and hit him with a knee drop from the middle rope. Nakamura took the major control as Ricochet countered his moves and had a brief control.
When the match went out of the ring, Ricochet sent Nakamura through the barricade, where Nakamura hit Ricochet with a steel chair to end the match in a disqualification. He locked Ricochet's neck with the chair and measured him for Kinshasa, but Rollins came and attacked Nakamura.
Securities separated them as it became advantageous to Nakamura as he did enough damage to Rollins back as he pushed Rollins back through the steel stairs. Ricochet came to save Rollins with the chair as Nakamura walked out. Priest and Rhea watched the brawl through the monitor and decided not to cash-in today.

The Judgment Day
Priest initiates the talk with finding some respect for Judgment Day. When Dom came up with the mic, everyone started booing him, Finn thanked all the members of the Judgment Day and JD McDonagh for always having his back. He said that he is “Grand Slam Finn” now. Rhea is however unhappy about Jey's arrival to Raw, as he became the talking point on the show that Judgment Day runs. JD McDonagh interfered with them and asked Priest to get rid of the briefcase as he presented him with a new one.
Sami Zayn interfered with them and stood on the ramp and slammed everyone with the mic. He doesn’t see them as the champions, but as five championship stealing cheats. Above all, he calls Dom for a fight tonight, but McDonagh volunteers and says no one from the Judgment Day will fight tonight. Instead of Dom, he is ready to fight Sami Zayn tonight.

Shayna Baszler vs Zoey Stark
Shayna and Zoey had a backstage segment earlier, where Zoey challenged Shayna for a match tonight. The match began as both countered each other’s moves. Shayna stomped Zoey’s arm, and went for the Kirifuda Clutch right away, but Zoey escaped. Zoey slides out but Shayna continued to lock her with the clutch outside the ring. Zoey sent Shayna back first to the commentary desk to take control.
After the commercial, Zoey delivered a suplex and a missile drop kick on Shayna. She went for a sliding kick on Shayna, but Shayna countered with a knee to the face. She tried to lift Zoey up, but Zoey attacked her with rapid strikes. She measured for a Z360, but wasn't able to. Shayna with a Kirifuda Clutch, she tries to fight back but Zoey is put to sleep.
Winner: Shayna Baszler Ratings: 2.5/5
Raquel Rodriguez vs Chelsea Green
After a backstage segment, the match was made official. As soon as the bell rang Chelsea tried to escape Raquel but Raquel showcased her dominance with a Clothesline and a Texana Bomb for the win to squash Chelsea.
After the match, Raquel announced that she got the rematch for the Women’s World Champion next week and Dom is barred from ringside.

The Miz Tv
The Miz came out and announced that the special guest for today is John Cena. John Cena music played, but no one came through. He said that John Cena is here, as nobody can see him taunting his “You can’t see me” catch phrase. He asked some questions to the Invisible Cena, where the WWE Universe answered on behalf of him. He delivered a Skull Crushing Finale to the Invisible John Cena and said that he wanted a rematch with LA Knight without any special guest referee.

Sami Zayn vs JD McDonagh
Sami Zayn was in the initial control of the match with a leg throw and a slam. Hei sent McDonagh out of the ring with an Irish whip, but McDonagh grabs Zayn's leg and blows Sami's head on the commentary table and sent him face first to the ring post.
After the commercial, Zayn jumped from the top rope, but McDonagh hit a Drop kick to the face of Zayn in the mid-air. Zayn went for ten punches to the face, a falcon arrow and an Exploder Suplex to McDonagh. Zayn measured McDonagh for a Helluva Kick, but Dominik pulled McDonagh's leg to save him. Sami went hitting Dom with rapid punches, but as Dom distracted, McDonagh went for a roll down for the win.
After the match, Zayn attacked Dom and measured for a Helluva Kick, McDonagh saved him. He sent Dom back and he received the exploder suplex and Helluva Kick instead of Dom.
Backstage, Judgment Day welcomed McDonagh, where Dom met Jey and asked him to join the Judgment Day.

Intercontinental Championship
Gunther pushed Gable and applied the head lock but Gable countered and caught Gunther's leg and hit his chest. Gable targeted Gunther's knee with a leg lock through the ropes, within the five count break. Gunther then hit him with a Big Boot to take control of the match. Gunther hit two vicious chops to Gable. After which, Gable got fired up and went for rapid chops to Gunther's chest. Gunther hit him with a massive chop and sent him out of the ring.
Gunther tried to powerbomb Gable, but countered with a throwdown through the ropes. Gable broke the ten count by sending Gunther into the ring. but Gunther hit him with a Powerbomb, but wasn’t enough to finish Gunther. Gunther went for the top rope, but Gable stopped him and he went for the flying head butt.
Gable hit Gunther with a couple of Suplexes, but wasn’t able to put him down. Gable went for a Moonsault, but Gunther countered with a raised leg. Gable applied Ankle lock to Gunther, and made him stumble. Gunther escaped him and locked a sleeper hold on Gable. Gunther with an overhead throw, landed on the back of the head. Gunther delivered a powerbomb and a Clothesline for the win to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
