Are WWE over-pushing Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair?

Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair currently hold the Women’s Tag Team Championship
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill are two of the most talented superstars on the active WWE roster, frequently capturing the spotlight in the women’s division. Their recent victory over Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark on Raw raised eyebrows, not because of the result, but because of the sudden inclusion of Fyre and Dawn in the storyline.
The latter duo, who have been non-factors on the main roster, seem to have been added mainly to give Alba Fyre a match in her home country of Scotland. While WWE’s effort to showcase Scottish talent on a major show is commendable, it also raises questions about the promotion’s broader strategy with Belair and Cargill.
The biggest question is are WWE over-pushing Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. So, let’s look at some facts and decide whether it is over-pushing or whether they deserve it.
Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair are a generational talent
The term “generational talent” is often overused in professional sports, but it fits Jade Cargill perfectly. If you were to build the ideal female athlete from scratch, you’d end up with someone very much like her. At 31 years old, Cargill boasts a height and muscular physique that makes her an imposing threat to anyone in the ring. She has a marketable look, charisma in spades, and an undeniable drive to be the best.
Cargill recently concluded her run with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and joined WWE under a multi-year deal. During her time in AEW, she made a significant impact, becoming the longest-reigning AEW TBS Champion and leaving a lasting impression. Her debut on AEW Dynamite on November 11, 2020, immediately caught fans’ attention. Interrupting Cody Rhodes to tease Shaquille O’Neal’s arrival, Cargill’s presence overshadowed even the NBA legend’s cameo. Her confidence and striking appearance set her apart from day one.
Also, her WWE run has been nothing short of impeccable as she aligned herself with Bianca Belair to reign as the WWE Woman’s Tag Team Champion.
Bianca Belair has already accomplished an immense amount in her WWE career. As a former Royal Rumble winner and multi-time champion, Belair has proven her mettle time and again. Known for her athleticism and strength, Belair’s rise to prominence has been meteoric. Her “EST of WWE” persona has resonated with fans, making her one of the most popular superstars on the roster.
Dominant Woman’s Tag-Team champion and market scaling
Since forming a tag team, Belair and Cargill have become a dominant force in WWE. Their recent victory over The Kabuki Warriors at WWE Backlash to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions solidified their status. Their dominance in the ring has been impressive, and they have racked up win after win. However, the question remains whether WWE is over-pushing these two superstars at the expense of others.
WWE’s decision to heavily feature Belair and Cargill is understandable given their marketability and talent. However, the abrupt inclusion of less prominent teams like Fyre and Dawn, primarily to fill a match card or showcase local talent, can sometimes dilute the overall storytelling. While it’s great to see Scottish talent featured prominently, it does raise questions about whether WWE is prioritizing marquee names over long-term narrative coherence.
WrestleMania caliber match
Pushing them is important as WWE are definitely planning a WrestleMania-caliber match-up between Belair and Cargill. This match will turn out to be one of the greatest Women’s matches in WWE. So, it is important for WWE to keep pushing them and keep them in front of the fans.
Looking ahead, it’s crucial for WWE to strike a balance. Belair and Cargill are undoubtedly stars, but the promotion must ensure that other talented wrestlers are also given opportunities to shine. This approach will not only prevent the overexposure of top stars but also keep the audience engaged with a variety of compelling storylines.
