The 12/20 episode of WWE SmackDown was pre-taped last week
The 12/20 episode of Friday Night SmackDown was pre-taped during last week’s episode of the Blue brand. The pre-taping was done at the XL Center in Hartford after the December 13 program went off the air.
This was done to give the WWE roster some extra time off time off over the impending Christmas season. Ahead of tonight’s show let us take a look at the top five spoilers for the 12/20 episode.
5. WWE Women’s tag team champion
Bianca Belair along with her new tag partner Naomi took on the team of Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. Noami replaced Jade Cargill last week who is out of action due to an attack last month that led to severe injury.
Belair and Naomi successfully defended their Women’s Tag Team Championship against Jax and LeRae. It remains to be seen who will step up as the next contender for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

4. Carmelo Hayes bounces back with a win
On the 12/13 episode, Carmelo Hayes was set to clash against a mystery opponent which turned out to be Braun Strowman. Strowman made quick work of Hayes as he picked up the win with ease in under two minutes.
Hayes got the opportunity to exact his revenge on this week’s episode as he beat the Monster among men in the pre-taped edition of 12/20 SmackDown.

3. Johnny Gargano battles Alex Shelley
The team of Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa (#DIY) recently defeated Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) to become the new Tag Team Champions. However, this win came when #DIY turned heel and Gargano landed a low blow on Sabin.
Alex Shelley and Gargano were long-time friends but the betrayal has left a sour taste in Shelley’s mouth as he looks to teach Johnny a lesson. The two former friends-locked horns in this week’s episode, and Gargano emerged victorious in the clash.
2. Kevin Owens continues his attack
‘The Prizefighter’ Kevin Owens on this week’s pre-taped episode continued his attack on Cody Rhodes. Owens labeled Cody a bad friend, son, and husband while taking shots at his past Stardust persona, sarcastically claiming it was “way more interesting.”
The two stars are engaged in a fierce feud and they locked horns last week at Saturday Night’s Main Event with Rhodes‘ Undisputed WWE title on the line. Cody emerged victorious in the clash but Owens attacked Rhodes after the loss and landed a devastating package piledriver after the show went off the air.
KO also took the Winged Eagle WWE Championship following the attack. Notably, the title had been presented by WWE COO Triple H to Cody Rhodes as a special one-day honor.
1. Drew McIntyre confronts the Bloodline
Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline cut a promo asserting their dominance during the pre-taped episode. The segment was interrupted when Drew McIntyre appeared, confronting the group head-on.
As tensions escalated and the faction closed in, McIntyre strategically retreated through the crowd, leaving the Bloodline furious and the audience buzzing with anticipation for their next encounter.
Jimmy Uso attacked McIntyre with his crutches after the pre-taped show went off-air, this retaliation after Drew attacked Jimmy on the 12/13 show.
Since his return earlier this month, McIntyre has targeted the members of the OG Bloodline. He already took care of Sami Zayn at SNME last week and made it clear that he will not rest until he takes out the rest of the faction.
Will Drew McIntyre join hands with the Bloodline? What disciplinary action should the WWE take regarding Kevin Owens? Who should be the next title contender for the Women’s Tag Team Championship? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
