Toni Storm spilled blood all over Wembley London at AEW All In but it wasn’t enough
This is, by far, the finest tale AEW has ever told: a nearly year-long show packed with passion, loyalty, love, avarice, and selfishness. Toni Storm faced her protégé, Mariah May.
The match kicked off with high intensity right from the start, with both competitors going for their finishers early. When that didn’t work, they traded Frye/Takayama-style punches in the center of the ring, setting the tone for a fierce encounter.
Mariah May followed up with a dropkick, temporarily gaining the upper hand. The two then stabilized into a brutal chop exchange until Toni Storm managed to land a DDT, bringing May to the mat.
Storm continued her assault with facewashes in the ropes, but her attempt at a hip attack came up short as Mariah dodged and countered with a devastating powerbomb to the floor.
Mariah showed her mean streak by spitting in Luther’s face and kneeling on the back of Storm’s neck while referee Aubrey Edwards held him back. Back in the ring, May executed a revolution side slam followed by a shotgun dropkick, looking to wear the champion down.
Toni Storm quickly exploded back into action with a Lou Thesz Press, unleashing a flurry of mounted punches. Mariah responded with a Saito Suplex, sending Storm rolling out of the ring to regain her composure. May kept up the pressure with a sliding knee off the apron, laying out Storm.
As the action spilled outside, Mariah got into a heated exchange with her mother at ringside, leading to her slapping her mother in a moment of pure fury.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Storm nailed May with a hip attack and proceeded with mounted punches, smashing Mariah’s face into the steel steps repeatedly. Toni then executed Storm Zero on the steel steps, leaving Mariah dazed.
In a surprising moment, Toni went over and hugged Mariah’s mom, adding insult to injury. Back in the ring, a bloodied Mariah fought back with a trifecta of hip attacks, but Storm countered with a vicious lariat.
Toni continued her onslaught with a German suplex, fired up for another hip attack, followed by Storm Zero, but Mariah May showed her resilience by kicking out. Frustration began to set in for Storm as Mariah flipped her off, prompting Toni to yank her finger and receive a series of slaps in return.
The match escalated into a brutal slap exchange, with referee Aubrey Edwards getting knocked aside in the chaos. Both women resorted to low blows and headbutts, collapsing to the mat from sheer exhaustion.
Regaining her footing, Mariah lifted Toni for a fireman’s carry and hit her with the Mayday, but Storm miraculously kicked out at the last moment.
With Mina Shirakawa watching anxiously from the stands, Mariah attempted to use the title as a weapon, but Luther intervened and took it away, flipping her the bird. In the ensuing chaos, Mariah grabbed a shoe, but Toni cut her off, taking the shoe herself. Referee Aubrey Edwards warned Toni, causing her to hesitate, and in that moment of doubt, Mariah rolled her up for a jackknife pin, but Storm escaped.
The action intensified as Mariah connected with a knee to the back of Toni’s head and then to her face. Just when it seemed like she had the match won, Toni turned the tables, hitting Storm Zero of her own winning the match.
